THE HIGHEST HONOUR
John 12:26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

This scripture is very special, it means so much to me because I see myself as a servant of God. I am here to serve for greater productivity. Taking the divine presence of God to the peoples and nations of the world. That is why God brought me to this earth, working to fulfill the divine mandate he gave every Christian.
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
When you are born again, you have entered into the service of our Lord Jesus Christ, John12:26 actually talks about you.
The word honour means to give a special respect to, to hold in high esteem. This means that God holds you in high esteem and regard because, you serve Christ. I am happy to know that the one God gives honour to is not that unbeliever who is rich in gold and silver. It is the one who is serving Him. And the most important thing is what God thinks about you.

Do you know that by being born again you have brought honour to your family, you have brought honour to your community, you have brought honour to your nation, you have brought honour to anything and anyone that is associated with you. When you became born again your family was regarded and chosen of God. In Luke 1:48 Here Mary regarded herself blessed for being the mother of our Lord Jesus Christ.
When you follow Christ you are a credit to your family, a credit to your society and a credit to your entire sphere of contact. Just keep serving God and one day He will recommend you for something higher, something special. Nobody became a follower of Christ by default, it is a choice we all have to make.
This is the most important thing. To serve God is a thing of honour. It is something given one the Lord prizes, it's not for everybody. It's a sign that you have been granted special privilege in God's sight. Jesus said, "he who serves me, my Father will honour him." Even if I didn't know what else to do to honour God, I know that if I'm serving Christ, the Father will honour me. This is the highest honour - When God honours you, what else can be higher than that.
1 John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
We are called sons of God for a reason. It is because there is no better place to be than in the presence of God.
In Matthew 4:19 Jesus did not mind calling the sons of Zebedee from their father's business because there was a greater honour awaiting them.
What is that you can't give up for God. What is it that is holding you back from following Christ or from doing the Father's business?
