Oggi vi voglio parlare dei Doos, il gruppo rock psichedelico degli anni 60. I Doors sarebbero nati su una spiaggia a Venice in California, quando Jim Morrison lesse i versi di una poesia appena composta Moonlight Drive a Ray Manzarek I due si sono conosciuti alla scuola di cinema dell'università dell'Ucla, a unirli i classici della letteratura maledetta e decadente. Morrison, originario della Florida è figlio di un alto ufficiale della marina . Manzarek, originario di Chigaco ha solide basi musicali grazie alla sua esperienza di pianista con predilizione del blues e del rock, Manzarek fa parte di un complessino Chiamato Ruck And The Ravens il quale si aggiunce Morrison; Johnny Densmore Ed il chitarrista Robbie Kruger . Diventano ufficialmente Doors come un racconto dello scrittore inglese William Blake le porte della percezione. Nel 1967 dopo una lunga gavetta nei locali esce il primo album chiamato The Doors, ad uno dei debutti più folgoranti nella storia del rock, il disco ha un saggio del talento poetico di Morrison che è l'anima del gruppo. con i brani Break On Through e Crystal Ship e Light My Fire. Sempre nel 1967 esce Strange Days con i brani People Are Strange ed appunto Strange Days. E' un album che accentua l'aspetto psichedelico grazie all'originale organo di Manzarek. E' un viaggio nel cuore di tenebra dell' America durante la guerra del Vietnam. Nel 1969 esce The Soft Parade, un album più commerciale con il brano Touch Me. Nel 1970 esce Morrison Hotel con i brani Roadhause Blues e Waiting For The Sun. Esce anche Absulute Live un doppio album dal vivo. Nel 1971 esce L.A.
