Crazy weather... Goodbye cherries.
🇬🇧 Dear friends this year will not eat cherries, at least for me... In my area and in much of northern Italy, around mid-April we have seen a unique climate event, for a week the daytime temperatures have exceeded constantly 30 degrees with peaks of 34. In my memory I was used to seeing the snow in April, these temperatures exceed more than double the seasonal average of the past years.
It's hot and good weather, do you complain? No, they were beautiful days, but I did not expect the sequel... These days of exceptional heat were followed by a cold and very unstable period, the result was that all the cherries of my two plants burned or better blocked due to the strong change in temperature and now they are all falling.
I have only two plants but they are many years old and they produce a large quantity of a particular cherry, which is characteristic of the area. Last year we collected 150kg of cherries and it looked like the plants had just been touched. Then for various events the rest we were not able to collect it. But this year we remains completely dry-mouthed, in 25 years it had never happened. I'm sorry to think that last year I had made enough 100% bio jam to finish the last jar in December. It will be for next year.
🇮🇹 Cari amici quest'anno non si mangeranno ciliegie, almeno per quanto mi riguarda... Nella mia zona e in gran parte del Nord Italia, verso circa metà Aprile si è assistito ad un evento climatico unico, per una settimana le temperature diurne hanno superato costantemente i 30 gradi con punte di 34. A mia memoria ero abituato a vedere la neve ad Aprile, queste temperature superano più del doppio le medie stagionali degli anni passati.
Fa caldo e bel tempo, ti lamenti? No, sono state bellissime giornate, ma non mi aspettavo il seguito... Questi giorni di caldo eccezionale sono stati seguiti da un periodo freddo e molto instabile, il risultato è stato che tutte le ciliegie delle mie due piante si sono bruciate o meglio bloccate per il forte sbalzo delle temperature e ora stanno cadendo tutte.
Ho solo due piante ma hanno molti anni e producono una grande quantità di una particolare ciliegia primizia, caratteristica della zona. L'anno scorso abbiamo raccolto 150kg di ciliegie e sembrava che le piante fossero appena state toccate. Poi per varie vicende il resto non siamo stati in grado di raccoglierlo. Ma quest'anno si rimane completamente a bocca asciutta, in 25 anni non era mai successo. Mi spiace pensare che l'anno scorso avevo fatto abbastanza marmellata 100% bio da finire l'ultimo barattolo a Dicembre. Sarà per l'anno prossimo.

Ne parlavo giusto oggi... qui al sud (nella mia zona si produce la famosa ciliegia "Ferrovia") sarà un'annata strepitosa, salvo imprevisti.
Gli alberi sono belli carichi e le primizie sono quasi pronte per essere gustate!
Sarebbero state pronte anche le mie primizie ormai se non avesse fatto quel tempo e anche quest'anno erano carichissime... Peccato, perchè essendo che anticipano tanto la stagione non ci sono ancora parassiti in giro e non serve dare nessun prodotto.
Che sfiga nera, tempo malandrino e brigante, purtroppo quando si mette di traverso ne combina di cotte e di crude, mi dispiace un sacco per le tue piante e per la tua marmellata, accidenti, da 150 kg a zero è proprio un abisso!!!
Si, speriamo vada meglio con le mele e le pere.
A me succedeva ogni anno a Parigi perché il tempo a primavera é ancora molto variato, e poi me le trovavo spaccate perché erano gonfissime d' acqua :-(
Questa volta proprio si sono bloccate e stanno cadendo tutte, come ho scritto non è mai successo. Perchè che si crepino per l'acqua si è successo, ma mai che la pianta lasci cadere tutto.
