Spaghetti on the road - Iceland, DAY#2

Second post a little late. The fatigue gained the first day after the long walk and the (fake) night at the airport has hit us with violence, although from a physical point of view our body has responded very well: no particular pain in the legs or back (for Now).

The eyes, however, were struggling to stay open and so last night, after devouring 250 grams of spaghetti, we decided to go to bed to wake this morning as fit as possible, to begin the real adventure, postponing to this morning the appointment with Steemit.

However, also because of the rain that greeted us in Iceland, yesterday did not offer us so much, if not some glimpse of the beautiful places we will meet from here to the next few days.
The landscape, out of the city, is truly lunar, and the signs of the volcanic origins of the island are clearly visible everywhere, even in the building materials used.
Looking at the areas that are a little more populated, on the other hand, it is interesting to note that there is an elegant struggle between modernity and past: the typical nordic houses mix with newer buildings that, however, even inside Reykjavik, create a pleasant effect.
Reykjavik, for the moment, has pleasantly surprised us, but today we will try to explore it a little better, before immersing ourselves completely in nature.

Another awesome surprise of yesterday was the meeting with a Scottish man, perhaps more crazy than us, who today will end his solo tour of the island by bicycle. We managed to steal some advice, and from his stories we understood that often Iceland will decide for us, and when it does there will be no way to oppose... The Scottish man, in fact, has had to repeatedly change (even in a consistent way) his plans and his own stages, because the wind did not allow him in any way to pedal in a certain direction.

This worries us a little, because it may be necessary to reconsider some stages in order to conserve time for possible "deviations" imposed by nature. But before deciding we want to test on the ground what really will put us in front of Iceland.

Detto ciò... Siamo pronti. Tempo di alzarsi e caricarsi gli zaini sulle spalle, si comincia.

Secondo post un po' in ritardo. La stanchezza maturata il primo giorno dopo la lunga camminata e la (non) notte in aeroporto si è fatta sentire con violenza, nonostante da un punto di vista solamente fisico il nostro corpo abbia risposto egregiamente: nessun dolore particolare alle gambe o alla schiena (per ora).

Gli occhi, però, stentavano a restare aperti e così ieri sera, dopo aver divorato 250 grammi di spaghetti a testa, abbiamo deciso di andare a letto per svegliarci il più possibile in forma questa mattina, per cominciare l'avventura vera e propria, rinviando a questa mattina l'appuntamento con Steemit.

Ad ogni modo, complice anche la pioggia che ci ha accolti in Islanda, la giornata di ieri non ha offerto poi molto, se non qualche scorcio degli splendidi luoghi che incontreremo da qui ai prossimi giorni.
Il paesaggio, fuori dalla città, è davvero lunare, e i segni delle origini vulcaniche dell'isola sono ben visibili ovunque, persino nei materiali da costruzione utilizzati.
Osservando le zone un po' più popolate, invece, è interessante notare come sia in atto un'elegante lotta tra modernità e passato: le tipiche casette nordiche si mischiano con edifici più nuovi che però, anche all'interno di Reykjavik, creano un piacevole effetto.
Reykjavik, per il momento, ci ha piacevolmente sorpreso, ma oggi cercheremo di esplorarla un po' meglio, prima di immergerci completamente nella natura.

Un'altra piacevole sorpresa di ieri è stato l'incontro con uno scozzese forse più folle di noi, che oggi terminerà il suo giro dell'isola in solitaria con la bicicletta. Siamo riusciti a rubargli qualche consiglio, e dai suoi racconti abbiamo capito che spesso sarà l'Islanda a decidere per noi, e quando lo farà non ci sarà modo di opporsi... Lui stesso, infatti, ha dovuto più volte cambiare anche in modo consistente i propri piani e le proprie tappe, perché il vento non permetteva in alcun modo di pedalare in una certa direzione.

La cosa un po' ci preoccupa, perché potrebbe essere necessario riconsiderare alcune tappe in modo da conservare del tempo per eventuali "deviazioni" imposte dalla natura. Ma prima di decidere vogliamo testare sul campo cosa realmente ci metterà davanti l'Islanda.
