Dikembe Mutombo has been a NBA player during 90s and the first years of the new millennium and he was an Allen The Answer Iverson's teammate in Philadelphia. They played the best basketball 76ers fans have teammate in their town and this team was able to reach the NBA Finals in 2001.

Mutombo has not been known during his career for his skills in the offensive side of the court: this was something about Iverson. Dikembe had the role to defend the paint and the basket. He became famous for the slang:

Unfortunelly for Mutombo in his best season of his career he met one of the greatest center of all time: Shaquille O'Neil. Even if Dikembe was a very good defender, Lakers' player was too big and too strong for him. LA won 2001 NBA finals with a 4-1 against Iverson and Mutombo, but however it was a beatiful final round.
In 2015 Mutombo became a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame for his great talent on the court and for his beautiful fair-play.

Sfortunatamente per Mutombo nella sua miglior stagione della sua carriera incontrò uno dei più grandi centri di tutti i tempi: Shaquille O'Neil. Anche se Dikembe fosse un grande difensore, il giocatore dei Lakers fu troppo grande e troppo forte per lui. Dikembe has never forgot his origins: he comes from Congo and he feels deeply his country. Africa is the countinent that grew him and now he wants to help it: Mutombo is one of the spokesman of NBA Cares. With this beautiful project NBA supports poor people and country where children can not play any sport. Every child must know what the happiness is and the basketball can make it. Mutombo tries to export basketball to Africa building courts, taking shoes and baskets.
I think this is Mutombo's greatest win of his career.

Dikembe non ha mai dimenticato le sue origini: proviene del Congo e sente ancora profondamente il suo Paese. L'Africa è il continente che lo ha cresciuto ed ora vuole aiutarla: Mutombo è uno dei portavoce di NBA Cares. Con questo splendido progetto la NBA supporta persone povere e Paesi dove i bambini non possono praticare alcuno sport. Ogni bambino deve conoscere cosa sia la felicità e la pallacanestro può fare questo. Mutombo cerca di esportare il basket in Africa costruendo campi, portando scarpe e canestri.
