BATTLE FOR NBA MVP: THE KING vs THE BEARD [ENG/ITA]

Who will win NBA Most Valuable Player?
Last year Russell Westbrook had an impressive season (31.6 ppg, 10.4 apg, 10.7 rpg) (even during this season he has had a triple-double in average, something of unbelievable) and he won this personal title rightly. He overcame one of the greatest record of all NBA: on April 7, he joined Robertson (this record was 55 seasons old) as the two only players in NBA history to average a triple-double during a season. Two days later Westbrook was able to overcame Robertson's record of most triple-doubles in a season with his historic 42nd triple-double against the Denver Nuggets.
There were a lot of players behind him, but they could only bow to one of the greatest regular season in NBA history: LBJ, Harden and Leonard had a good season but nothing to compare with Russell's one.

...but what about this season?

A new season started in October and a lot of players wanted to demonstrate their power and magnificence: Damian Lillard is having one of his greatest season in his career, Anthony Davis has taken his New Orleans Pelicans to the post-season after Cousins' injury, but the real contenders to win the NBA Most Valuable Player is between James Harden and LeBron James.

Both of them are the most communicative NBA players this year (Curry has had a lot of injuries and he is seriously injured still now and he will probably loss all the first round in the post-season), even for their great performances on the court.
I would like to list all the reasons because both the players could win the MVP.

• James "The Beard" Harden
  - first player this season to make 250 threes;
  - the point per game leader (30.4 ppg);
  - first player this season to make 2000 points (during week 23);
  - he scored 1565 points in the first 50 games (H. is the third player in the last 25 years with Bryant and Iverson);
  - on January, 31 he recorded the best triple-double for points (60-11-10): no one had ever scored 60 points with a triple-double;
  - he is the leader in his team for points and assist (8.8), just before Chris Paul too;
  - Houston has finished with a great record 65-17 (best in the league) and they are going to play against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the post-season;
  - Rockets recorded great series of wins: they are a straight of 11 positive results and lost just a game in Toronto in the last 29 during February and March;
• LeBron "The King" James
  - he recorded the longest series of games in double digits, overcoming Jordan (866), with 873 (this series is still opened). LBJ had his last game with less than 10 points on February, 5th, 2005 against Milwakee (8) ;
  - the third point per game player in the league (27.5 ppg) and the best in the Eastern Conference;
  - the second player this season to make 2000 points (after Harden);
  - he won the All-Star game with his team and he was MVP (third time);
  - on February he recorded a triple-double of average (27/10.5/10.5);
  - he is the leader in his team for points, assists (9.1 - the first one is Westbrook in the NBA and he is the only players to record more than 745 assists with LBJ), steals (1.4), blocks(0.9) and he is second for rebounds (8.6), just behind Kevin Love;
  - LeBron is the first player with 30000 points, 8000 rebounds and 8000 assists in career ( he is 33 years old);
  - during his career he has won 43% of Easter Conference Month MVP;
  - he is the oldest player to record 2000+500+500 in a season (he was the youngest in 2005);
  - Cleveland has finished with a record 50-32 and they are sixth in the league. They are going to play against Indiana Pacers in the post-season;
  - Cavaliers won 7/8 games in the last part of March and maybe they found a right team system after the mid-season trades.

The battle will be very hard between "THE TWO JAMES" and who are you supporting for?

Chi vincerà il titolo di MVP quest’anno?
L’anno scorso Russell Westbrook ebbe una stagione impressionante (31.6 punti, 10.4 rimbalzi e 10.7 assist a gara)(anche quest’anno ha finito con una tripla doppia di media, realizzando qualcosa di incredibile) e giustamente vinse il titolo di MVP, grazie soprattutto al fatto che riuscì a superare dei record impressionanti che resistevano nella NBA da anni: il 7 Aprile pareggiò il record di Oscar Robertson (che resisteva ormai da 55 stagioni) di concludere una stagione regolare con punti, rimbalzi ed assist in doppia cifra di media; due notti dopo poi superò lo stesso Robertson realizzando la 42esima tripla-doppia in stagione contro i Denver Nuggets.
Ci furono molti giocatori dietro di lui che si poterono solo inchinare di fronte ad un’annata simile: LBJ, Harden e Leonard ebbero anche loro una buona stagione, ma non all’altezza di quella di Westbrook.

...e quest’anno chi lo vince?

Una nuova stagione è iniziata ad ottobre e molti giocatori volevano dimostrare le loro capacità e grandezza: Damian Lillard ha avuto una splendida stagione (forse la migliore della sua carriera), Anthony Davis ha portato i suoi New Orleans Pelicans ai playoff dopo l’infortunio di Cousins, ma coloro i quali hanno reali possibilità per ambire al trofeo di MVP sono James Harden e LeBron James.
Entrambi sono tra i giocatori più comunicativi della NBA quest’anno (Curry è stato fuori molto tempo quest’anno per infortunio e resterà ancora fuori per il primo round dei playoff) soprattutto grazie alle grandi performance sul campo.
Vorrei elencare le ragioni per cui entrambi potrebbero vincere il titolo:

• James "The Beard" Harden
  - primo della stagione a realizzare 250 triple;
  - il miglior realizzatore della lega per gara (30.4 punti);
  - primo giocatore nella stagione a raggiungere 2000 punti realizzati (nella 23° settimana);
  - ha realizzato 1565 punti nelle prime 50 partite (H. è il terzo giocatore negli ultimi 25 anni insieme a Bryant e Iverson);
  - il 31 gennaio ha realizzato la migliore tripla-doppia per punti (60-11-10): nessuno aveva mai realizzato 60 punti in concomitanza di una tripla doppia;
  -è il leader nella sua squadra per punti segnati ed assist (8.8) a gara, anche davanti allo stesso Chris Paul;
  - Houston ha concluso con il miglior record (65-17) nella NBA e sfideranno i Minnesota Timberwolves nel primo turno di play-off;
  - I Rockets hanno registrato grandi strisce di vittorie: 11 risultati positivi consecutivi ed hanno perso solo una gara a Toronto nelle ultime 29 partite nei mesi di febbraio e marzo.

• LeBron "The King" James
  - ha fatto registrare la più lunga serie di gare(873) in doppia cifra superando Jordan (866) e la striscia è ancora aperta. L’ultima gara con meno di 10 punti la chiuse il 5 Febbraio 2005 con 8;
  - il terzo giocatore per punti realizzati a gara nella lega (27.5 punti) ed il migliore nella Eastern Conferance;
  - il secondo a raggiungere quota 2000 punti in stagione (dopo Harden);
  - ha vinto il titolo di MVP all’All Star game con la sua squadra (terzo titolo);
  - a febbraio ha registrato una tripla doppia di media (27-10.5-10.5);
  - nei Cavs è il leader per punti, assist (9.1 – il primo nella NBA è Westbrook e con LBJ sono gli unici giocatori ad aver superato quota 650), rubate (1.4), stoppate (0.9) ed è secondo nei rimbalzi (8.6) appena dietro Kevin Love;
  - LeBron è il primo giocatore ad avere 30000 punti, 8000 rimbalzi e 8000 assist in carriera a 33 anni);
  - nella sua carriera ha vinto il titolo di MVP del mese nella Eastern Conference nel 43% dei casi;
  - è il più vecchio giocatore a realizzare 2000/500/500 in una stagione (nel 2005 fu il più giovane);
  - Cleveland ha finito con un record di 50 vinte e 32 perse, il 6° nella NBA e nei play-off sfideranno gli Indiana Pacers;
  - i Cavaliers hanno vinto 7/8 gare nell’ultima parte di marzo e forse stanno trovando il giusto feeling solo ora dopo le trade di metà stagione.
