There are various ways, lawful and illicit, to change the price of the shares or the value of the tokens. The most famous are certainly: insider trading and market manipulation .

1. Insider trading

   is carried out whenever a person operating in the financial market makes use of privileged information for speculative purposes not accessible to other operators.

2. Market manipulation

   • Information-based manipulation, It consists in the dissemination of false information, apparently reliable and which may be reflected in the price of the financial instruments to which they refer
   • Market-based manipulation, which is distinguished in:
     • a) Trade-based manipulation (execution of a coordinated set of operations that are legitimate in themselves but which, through methods and execution times, can alter the free and spontaneous process of market price formation ).
     • b) Action-based manipulation (a series of transactions, performed by a single entity or by several parties in common agreement that execute fictitious transactions on securities, generating the illusion of a increase in volume traded)

Does it remind you of something, this last definition?
Then let me refresh your memory.

On 12 July 2018 Byteball realizes the "bridge" between Byteball and Steemit through the Steemit Certificate mechanism. The project is immediately a success and in a few days, more than 25 thousand people sign up to be able to request their money for free.
The formula is simple: the higher your level on Steemit the more money you can earn.
So far it's all wonderful ... but unfortunately for you only half of the funds will be payable, while the other half will be payable only after one year.

So far nothing new, but what really happened?

Before starting, it is necessary to remember that the value of an action or a token is given by the intersection between supply and demand, the initial creation of not mineable coins has minimal costs for the producer and that very often the developers have a very large availability of coins.

Ok, now we can start.

This image was taken from coinmarketcap, representing the byteball graph from July 12th (publication date Bridge Between Byteball And Steem) until July 31st (day I wrote this post).
There are 3 lines representing each :

Orange = BTC price
Green = USD price
Blue = Market cap.

Through the Steemit certification mechanism we have received a number of coins in relation to our level of reputation but ... even if only half of the coins are immediately available, from an economic and graphical point of view it is as if we had bought the full amount and this to determined:

• The illusion of an increase in volume traded resulting in higher prices and greater interest from investors.
  In fact, in just 5 days Byteball has gone from a price of 116.13 $ to 141.45 $ realizing a growth of + 21.8%, much greater than the other coins in the same period of time considered.

Bitcoin = + 4.6%
ETH = + 7.6%
Ripple = + 10.3%

• Created a new barrier around $ 124 (average price at which the largest turnout of people from Steemit occurred), as half of the coins are blocked and can only be used in a year.

To be honest, however, I am not surprised that the price today has fallen below $ 100 because too much as it often happens with not mineable coins, the developers hold the majority and can maneuver the price at will by selling many coins when the their value is high.

Probably some of you will have earned a few hundred dollars, but who organized this operation will have earned hundreds of thousands.

Esistono vari modi, leciti ed illeciti, per modificare il prezzo delle azioni o il valore dei Token. I più famosi sono sicuramete: insider trading e aggiotaggio.

1. Insider trading

   si realizza ogni volta che un soggetto operante nel mercato finanziario si avvalga di informazioni privilegiate per fini speculativi non accessibili ad altri operatori.

2. Aggiotaggio

• Information based manipulation, cioè la diffusione di notizie false, apparentemente affidabili e che possono riflettersi nel prezzo degli strumenti finanziari cui si riferiscono;
• Market based manipulation, che si distingue in
  • a) Action based manipulation (una serie di operazioni, realizzate da un unico soggetto o da più soggetti in comune accordo che compiono operazioni fittizie su titoli, generando sul mercato l’illusione di un incremento dei volumi trattati)
  • b) Trade based manipulation (esecuzione di una serie coordinata di operazioni di per sé lecite che però per modalità e tempi di esecuzione possono alterare il libero e spontaneo processo di formazione dei prezzi di mercato).

Vi fa ricordare qualcosa quest'ultima definizione?

Il 12 luglio 2018 Byteball realizza il "ponte" fra Byteball And Steemit attraverso il meccanismo di Steemit Attestation. Il progetto è subito un successo e in pochi giorni più di 25 mila persone si iscrivono per poter reclamare i propri soldi gratis.
La formula è semplice: più alto è il tuo livello su Steemit più soldi guadagni, fin qua è tutto meraviglioso... ma sfortunatamente per voi solo metà dei fondi sarà esigibile, mentre l'altra metà sarà disponibile solo dopo un anno.

Fin qui niente di nuovo, ma cos'è successo veramente?

Prima di iniziare, è necessario ricordare che il valore di un'azione o di un token è dato dall'intersezione tra domanda e offerta, la creazione iniziale di monete non minabili ha costi minimi per il produttore e che molto spesso gli sviluppatori hanno un grande disponibilità di monete.

Ok, ora possiamo iniziare.

Questa immagine è stata presa da coinmarketcap, rappresenta il grafico di byteball dal 12 luglio (data di pubblicazione "ponte" tra Byteball e Steem) fino al 31 luglio (giorno in cui ho scritto questo post).
Ci sono 3 linee che rappresentano ciascuna:

Arancione = prezzo BTC
Verde = prezzo USD
Blu = capitalizzazione di mercato.

Attraverso il meccanismo di certificazione di Steemit abbiamo ricevuto un determinato numero di monete in relazione al nostro livello di reputazione ma, anche se solo metà delle monete sono immediatamente disponibili, da un punto di vista economico e grafico è come se avessimo comprato l'intero importo e questo a determinato:

• L'illusione di un aumento dei volumi scambiati con conseguente aumento dei prezzi e maggiore interesse da parte degli investitori.
  Infatti, in soli 5 giorni, Byteball è passato da un prezzo di 116,13 $ a 141,45 $, realizzando una crescita del + 21,8%, molto maggiore delle altre monete nello stesso periodo di tempo considerato.

• Creato una nuova barriera intorno 124$ (prezzo medio in cui si è realizzata la maggiore affluenza di persone da Steemit), in quanto metà delle monete risulta essere bloccata e potrà essere utilizzata solo tra un anno.

A dirla tutta però non mi stupisce che il prezzo ad oggi sia sceso al di sotto dei 100$ perchè pultroppo come capita molto spesso con le monete non minabili, gli sviluppatori ne detengono la maggioranza e possono manovrare il prezzo a piacimento vendendo moltissime monete quando il loro valore è alto.

Probabilmente alcuni di voi avranno guadagnato qualche centinaio di dollari, ma chi ha organizzato questa operazione ne avrà guadagnati centinaia di migliaia.
