[ITA] Il TANUKI タヌキ, cane-procione giapponese, simile al procione comune, è una creatura che appare in molte storie e leggende.

Una delle sue caratteristiche principali è la capacità di cambiare aspetto assumendo la forma di oggetti inanimati, animali e persone, facendo degli scherzi o dei dispetti. Ad esempio si trasformò in rami per burlarsi dei cacciatori o trasformò le foglie in banconote per prendere in giro alcuni mercanti. La storia che vi racconterò oggi si intitola Bunbuku Chagama e narra di come un Tanuki si trasformò in una teiera per ingannare un monaco e ringraziare colui che l'aveva salvato.

Un giorno, un uomo povero trovò un procione incastrato in una trappola e decise di liberarlo. Il tanuki, per ringraziarlo del benevolo gesto, andò nella casa dell'uomo e si trasformò in una teiera proponendo all'uomo di venderla. Così il pover'uomo riuscì a venderla ad un monaco che se la portò a casa, la pulì e la mise sul fuoco per scaldare l'acqua. Naturalmente il troppo calore non fece resistere il procione che fece comparire delle gambe e corse via. Ritornò dall'uomo che l'aveva salvato e gli propose di allestire un circo dove la gente avrebbe pagato per vedere una teiera con le gambe intenta a camminare su un filo. L'idea funzionò e entrambi ottennero una ricompensa: l'uomo non fu più povero e il tanuki ebbe una casa e un nuovo amico.

Sarebbe davvero curioso vedere una teiera con le gambe ^.^
