Wonder è un film del 2017 di Stephen Chbosky che ha come interpreti principali Jacob Tremblay, Julia Roberts e Owen Wilson. Il primo, anche se ancora giovanissimo, si è già fatto notare qualche anno fa nel film Room; gli altri due non avrebbero bisogno di presentazioni ma di Julia Roberts posso citare Closer, Notting Hill e Erin Brockovich, mentre di Owen Wilson cito Midnight in Paris, Io & Marley e 2 single a nozze.

Il film parla di una famiglia a cui nasce un bambino con una malformazione cranio-facciale. Come si nota dalle foto, il protagonista indossa spesso un casco spaziale per nascondere il suo aspetto, e per questo lo chiamano Major Tom, citando Space Oddity di David Bowie. Avendo subito parecchi interventi durante l'infanzia e per proteggerlo dagli altri bambini, fino ai 10 anni ha studiato a casa con la madre; a 11 anni i suoi genitori decidono che sia arrivato il momento di iscriverlo in una vera scuola e farlo integrare con coetanei e insegnanti. Dopo un inizio complicato, il protagonista riesce piano piano a inserirsi nella nuova scuola, superando le difficoltà e i pregiudizi iniziali.

Sono da apprezzare le interpretazioni di tutti gli attori e del regista che, malgrado tratti di temi come bullismo, infanzia, prima adolescenza e contrasti familiari, lo fa risultare gradevole e mai banale.

Wonder is a 2017 film by Stephen Chbosky starring Jacob Tremblay, Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson. The first, although still very young, has already been noted a few years ago in the movie Room; the other two don't need introduction but Julia Roberts I can mention Closer, Notting Hill and Erin Brockovich, while Owen Wilson I quote Midnight in Paris, Marley & Me and Wedding Crashers.

The film is about a family that born a child with a cranio-facial malformation. As you can see from the photos, the protagonist wears often a space helmet to hide his appearance, and for this they call him Major Tom, citing David Bowie's Space Oddity. Having undergone several interventions during childhood and to protect him from other children, he studied at home with his mother until he was 10; at the age of 11, his parents decided that it was time to enroll in a real school and integrate him with peers and teachers. After a complicated start, the protagonist is slowly able to enter the new school, overcoming initial difficulties and prejudices.

The interpretations of all the actors and of the director are appreciated, despite the fact that they deal with issues such as bullying, childhood, early adolescence and family conflict, it makes him pleasant and never banal.
