Altered Carbon è una serie TV fantascientifica prodotta nel 2018 da Netflix tratta dal romanzo di Richard K. Morgan. Ha come protagonisti Joel Kinnaman, Martha Higareda e James Purefoy.
Joel Kinnaman ha già avuto ruoli abbastanza importati come in RoboCop, Suicide Squad o come avversario di Frank Underwood in House Of Cards; per la protagonista femminile, Martha Higareda, questa è la sua prima interpretazione internazionale; mentre James Purefoy è conosciuto per The Following.
La serie parla di un futuro dispotico in cui la memoria di qualsiasi essere umano è immagazzinata su un disco digitale, posto alla base del cervello, che le permette di essere trasferita da un corpo (chiamata custodia) a un altro; questo consente agli umani di vivere in eterno trasferendo la propria memoria quando muore il corpo.
All'inizio della serie al protagonista, ex componente di un élite militare, viene dato un nuovo corpo da un facoltoso finanziatore per indagare sul suo presunto suicidio/omicidio. Quest'indagine lo obbligherà a scavare nel suo passato scoprendo anche i motivi della sua morte.
Nonostante le ottime premesse e un bel cast, secondo me la serie ha parecchie lacune di sceneggiatura, sopratutto nella ultime 2-3 puntate, e divaga troppo su argomenti che non c'entrano con la trama principale.
Nel complesso mi ha un po' deluso e non arriva alla sufficienza.

Altered Carbon is a science fiction TV series produced in 2018 by Netflix based on the novel by Richard K. Morgan. Starring Joel Kinnaman, Martha Higareda and James Purefoy.
Joel Kinnaman play quite important roles as in RoboCop, Suicide Squad or as an opponent of Frank Underwood in House Of Cards; for the female protagonist, Martha Higareda, this is her first international interpretation; while James Purefoy is known for The Following.
The series speaks of a despotic future that the memory of any human being is stored on a digital disk, placed at the base of the brain, which allows it to be transferred from one body (called custody) to another; this allows humans to live forever by transferring their memory when the body dies.
At the beginning of the series the protagonist, former member of a military elite, is given a new body by a wealthy financier to investigate his alleged suicide/murder. This investigation will force him to dig into his past and discover the reasons for his death.
Despite the excellent conditions and a good cast, I think the series has several shortcomings of screenplay, especially in the last 2-3 episodes, and wanders too much on topics that have nothing to do with the main plot.
Overall I was a little disappointed and did not get enough.
non amo le serie in generale quindi seguirò il tuo consiglio tra le righe e eviterò di guardarmi qualche puntata.
