Il Calcio non è solo un sport... (Football is not just a sport ...)
Il Calcio in Italia è lo sport più praticato, amato e seguito. Milioni di bambini e adulti giocano per le strade, nelle parrocchie, nelle scuole, nei centri sportivi, per puro divertimento o a livello agonistico, inseguendo un pallone e per quasi tutti inseguendo un sogno.
Io personalmente devo tantissimo a questo sport, che mi ha insegnato a vivere, a non arrendermi nei momenti difficili. Insegnandomi il significato delle parole lealtà competizione rispetto . I miei migliori amici sono quei bambini conosciuti 30 anni or sono categoria pulcini , momenti indimenticabili di una spensierata giovinezza.
La mia devozione e il mio amore verso questo sport mi porta a scrivere questo articolo, come segno di riconoscenza, un piccolo tributo così che tutti lo possano apprezzare e conoscere un pizzico meglio.

Il CALCIO ha origine nella metà del XIX secolo in Inghilterra, all'inizio considerato come uno sport d'élite, praticato principalmente nelle università e nelle scuole più importanti, divenne ben presto lo sport più praticato anche nel ceto operaio.
Il 24 ottobre 1857 a sheffield NATHANIEL CRESWICK fondò la prima squadra ufficiale SHEFFIELD FC.
In breve tempo il calcio si diffonderà in tutta Europa, e subito dopo nelle colonie Inglesi e Sud America.
Si affrontano due squadre composte da 11 giocatori, in cui vi è un portiere che è l'unico giocatore che può prendere la palla con le mani e 10 giocatori detti di movimento. Il terreno di gioco è di forma rettangolare, delimitato da due porte e misura mediamente 110 metri di lunghezza e 60 metri di larghezza.Lo scopo del gioco è segnare più gol dell'avversario. La partita dura circa 90" , divisa in due tempi da 45".
Il torneo più importante è la COPPA DEL MONDO che si svolge ogni quattro anni dal 1930. Ideato dal dirigente sportivo francese Jules Rimet è l'evento sportivo più seguito al mondo. Fino al 1970 i vincitori venivano premiati con la coppa Rimet, nel 1974 entra in scena l'attuale trofeo COPPA DEL MONDO FIFA, ideato dal designer Italiano Silvio Gazzanica, che partecipò ha una selezione di 53 candidati da cui risultò vincitore, dando vita ad una autentica opera d'arte.
Gazzanica la descrisse così:
Le linee nascono dalla base, risalendo in spirali, fino a stringere il mondo. Le figure rappresentate sono due atleti che esultano nel momento della vittoria.

Anche in questo sport , l'Italia eccelle così come nella pallavolo, basket, pallanuoto.
Minimo comune denominatore è che sono tutti sport di squadra.
L'unione fa la forza, astuzia ingegno e senso del sacrificio ci hanno fatto primeggiare per ben 4 volte a livello mondiale e mai partiti con i favori dei pronostici.
I migliori allenatori al mondo sono Italiani, il nostro Catenaccio (strategia di gioco tesa a difendersi bassi per poi ripartire in contropiede) è famoso in tutto il mondo.
Mentre vi scrivo, un senso di vuoto mi assale pensando che l'italia non parteciperà quest'estate alla competizione iridata in Russia. Per la seconda volta nella Storia noi non ci saremo.Ma il vero dispiacere è sapere in anticipo di non poter godere di quei momenti in cui c'è la partita, giorni in cui tutti diventano tifosi, in cui ci si sveglia aspettando l'inizio, giorni di festa, conviviali, da passare con gli amici, in casa o in piazza, mangiando e bevendo, ridendo scherzando, in cui il contesto diviene l'evento e la partita una splendida cornice colorata.
Questo è il calcio... emozioni.

The union is strength, cunning talent and sense of sacrifice have made us excel 4 times worldwide and never started with the favors of the predictions.

As I write to you, a sense of emptiness assaults me, thinking that Italy will not participate this summer in the world championship competition in Russia. For the second time in history we will not be there. But the real disappointment is knowing in advance that we can not enjoy those moments when there is the match, days when everyone becomes a fan, where we wake up waiting for the beginning , festive days, convivial, to spend with friends, at home or in the square, eating and drinking, laughing jokingly, in which the context becomes the event and the game a beautiful colored frame.
