Photo contest: Flowers! - Tulip [ITA/ENG]

Ringrazio @steemotion per il suo contest dedicato ai fiori, perché mi dà l’occasione di mostrarvi uno dei protagonisti del mio giardino. Il Tulipano!

Una pianta bulbosa appartenente alla famiglia delle Liliaceae originario della Turchia e importato in Europa a metà del XVII secolo da Ogier Ghislain de Busbecq. La coltivazione dei Tulipani inizio verso la fine del 1500, grazie al botanico Carolus Clusius. Gli studi di Clusius portanono allo sviluppo nei Paesi Bassi di molte delle varietà che tutt’oggi possiamo apprezzare con la loro moltitudine di forme e colori. Nella foto che propongo per il contest è raffigurato uno dei tulipani tardivi che sono fioriti la scorsa primavera. Adoro questa varietà detta “Parrot”, con i loro petali dai colori sgargianti e frastagliati, sono abbastanza delicati, per questo motivo vanno piantati in un luogo sufficientemente riparato dalle interperie. Oggi i fiori che possiamo ammirare, a causa di mutazioni, infezioni, ibridazioni e selezioni eseguite dall’uomo, non sono gli stessi che avremmo potuto ammirare nel 1600, ma possiamo apprezzare sfumature e caratteristiche estetiche differenti. Sono circa 150 specie sono comprese nel genere Tulipa!

A bulbous plant belonging to the Liliaceae family originating in Turkey and imported into Europe in the mid-fourteenth century by Ogier Ghislain de Busbecq.
The cultivation of the Tulips begins towards the end of 1500, thanks to the botanist Carolus Clusius. Clusius' studies lead to the development in the Netherlands of many of the varieties that we can still appreciate with their multitude of shapes and colors.
In the photo that I propose for the contest is represented one of the late tulips that bloomed last spring.
I love this variety called "Parrot", with their bright and jagged petals, they are quite delicate, for this reason they must be planted in a place sufficiently sheltered from the elements. Today the flowers that we can admire, due to mutations, infections, hybrids and selections performed by man, are not the same ones that we could have admired in 1600, but we can appreciate different shades and aesthetic characteristics. There are about 150 species are included in the genus Tulipa!
