Suonando in un gruppo, la musica è qualcosa di essenziale nella mia vita quotidiana.
Mi ha sempre fatto piacere scoprire nuova musica e parlarne con le persone.
Sono molto curioso di sapere i vostri gruppi e/o cantautori preferiti.
Vi dirò cinque tra i miei preferiti, quelli che hanno segnato la mia vita ed il perché lo hanno fatto.

Fabrizio De André (Cantautore - Italia - 1961)

• Da bambino mio padre metteva le sue cassette nell'autoradio durante i viaggi, all'epoca avevo dieci anni, non capivo praticamente nulla di ciò che parlava nelle sue canzoni e non è che mi piacesse molto, col tempo ho imparato ad apprezzarlo, i suoi testi sono poesie pungenti; un dono per pochi eletti.
  Quando voglio rilassarmi e riflettere mi ascolto i suoi capolavori.
  Un mio grossissimo rimpianto è quello di non averlo mai potuto vedere dal vivo.

Iron Maiden (Heavy Metal - Inghilterra - 1975)

• All'età di sette anni, al matrimonio di mia cugina sono stato colpito dalla copertina del loro primo album, misi la cassetta nella radio durante la festa e mi si accese una lampadina, pensai di aver scoperto il gruppo più bello della terra!!
  Peccato che dopo pochi minuti mia cugina me la fece togliere; in effetti non era molto a tema per una festa di matrimonio, ma per fortuna me la regalò, la ascoltai cosi tante volte che dopo un anno non si sentiva già più e dovetti ricomprarne una nuova.
  Ora non li seguo più molto perché non credo abbiano ancora qualcosa da dire con i loro ultimi lavori.
  Ho avuto il piacere di vederli dal vivo anni fa e di ammirare quello che, secondo me, è un dei più bravi cantanti della storia della musica.

Ac/Dc (Hard Rock - Australia - 1973)

• Uno dei gruppi più famosi della terra, difficile non conoscerne il nome. Dopo essermi invasato con gli Iron ho potuto scoprire anche loro, ricordo ancora quando li mettevo nel mangiacassette sul balcone di casa per la felicità dei vicini che andarono a lamentarsi con mia madre nei giorni avvenire, a quanto ricordo lei non la prese benissimo.
  Come per gli Iron, non li seguo più molto perché trovo i loro ultimi album abbastanza ripetitivi.
  Ho avuto il piacere di vedere pure loro dal vivo, uno show unico!

Primus (Rock alterantivo - USA - 1984)

• A dire il vero il loro genere è abbastanza singolare, difficile etichettarli, ma forse quello scritto sopra è l'etichetta che più gli si avvicina.
  Mi hanno sempre colpito per singolarità e attitudine, dei folli che dal vivo sanno tenere il palco come pochi e potrebbero andare a suonare assieme a qualsiasi gruppo rock, funky o punk.
  I loro album riescono sempre a sorprendermi seppure li abbia ascoltati centinaia di volte.
  Al loro concerto ho saltato come un grillo per un'ora consecutiva sotto un diluvio allucinante!

Cradle of Filth (Black Metal - Inghilterra - 1991)

• Per il ciclo "brutti, sporchi e cattivi" ecco un gruppo non proprio orecchiabile, le atmosfere musicali e la voce del cantante sono stati per me da sempre fonte di ispirazione nell'ambito metal.
  Dal vivo mi hanno deluso parecchio, nonostante li abbia visti tre volte, il cantante non è all'altezza della registrazione in studio e trovano veramente tante difficoltà nel far rendere i loro suoni cupi ma melodici.
  Hanno cambiato stile più volte durante la loro carriera, alcuni loro album li trovo inascoltabili, per fortuna ultimamente si stanno riprendendo, il loro ultimo album è uscito un paio di giorni fa, niente male!

Fabrizio De André (Songwriter - Italy - 1961)

• As a child my dad put his tapes in the car on trips, at the time I was ten years old, I did not understand much of what he was talking about in his songs and I did not like it much, with the time I learned to appreciate it his lyrics are biting poems, a gift for a few elected.
  When I want to relax and reflect I listen his masterpieces.
  My biggest regret is that I have never been able to see it live on stage.

Iron Maiden (Heavy Metal - England - 1975)

• At the age of seven, at the wedding of my cousin I was hit by the cover of their first album, put the tape on the radio during the party and I lit a light bulb, I thought I discovered the best band on earth!!
  Too bad that after a few minutes my cousin made me take it off; in fact it was not much of a theme for a wedding party, but luckily she gave it to me, listened so many times that after a year I can't listened it anymore and I had to buy a new one.
  Now I do not follow them anymore because I do not think they still have something to say with their latest work.
  I had the pleasure of seeing them live years ago and admiring what I think is one of the best singers in the history of music.

Ac/Dc (Hard Rock - Australia - 1973)

• One of the most famous bands on earth, hard to do not know their name. After getting sick with Iron I was able to find them, I still remember when I put them in the tape player on the balcony for the happiness of the neighbors who went to complain to my mother in the days to come, as I remember she did not take it very well.
  As with the Iron, I do not follow them anymore because I find their last repetitive albums.
  I had the pleasure of seeing them live on stage; a unique show!

Primus (Alterantive Rock - USA - 1984)

• True their genre is quite singular, difficult to label them, but perhaps the one above is the label that comes closest to it.
  I've always been hit by singularity and aptitude, they are crazy and live they know how to keep the stage as few and could go playing with any rock, funky or punk band.
  Their albums can still surprise me even though they have heard them hundreds of times.
  At their concert I skipped like a cricket for a consecutive hour under a incredible flood!

Cradle of Filth (Black Metal - Inghilterra - 1991)

• For the "ugly, dirty and bad" cycle here is a not really catchy group, the musical atmospheres and singer's voice have always been a source of metal inspiration for me.
  Live I've been disappointed, I saw them three times, the singer is not like the studio recording and they find so many difficulties in making their dark sounds but melodic.
  They've changed their style many times during their career, some of their albums are unheard, fortunately lately they are getting better, their latest album came out a couple of days ago, nothing bad!
