Iniziamo questo viaggio virtuale del parco con presentarvi degli animali davvero singolari:

Marmotte

Animali altamente sociali, comunicano tra loro emettendo dei fortissimi fischi, soprattutto quando si sentono in pericolo. Secondo alcuni studiosi il loro può essere considerato un linguaggio vero e proprio.
Durante la nostra visita le abbiamo sentite fischiare eccome, abbiamo inoltre potuto assistere ad una breve lite tra loro per qualche motivo a noi ignoto, la scena è stata divertentissima e per fortuna non ci sono stati spargimenti di sangue!😆

Il terreno a loro designato era cosparso di grossi solchi nel suolo un po' ovunque. Buchi dove hanno passato l'intero inverno in letargo prima di risvegliarsi in primavera.
Letargo nel quale la temperatura corporea scende in picchiata da +35 °C a +5 °C, il loro cuore rallenta da 130 a 15 battiti al minuto e la respirazione è appena percettibile.

Mi è capitato la scorsa estate di vederle in montagna ma sono estremamente schive e rapidissime, ricordo che un giorno ne vidi una a poche decine di metri da me e non ebbi neanche il tempo di tirar fuori la macchina fotografica che in un lampo scomparve tra le fessure di alcune pietre.
Solitamente vengono immortalate da lontano con l'uso degli zoom.
Nel parco invece sembravano non temere eccessivamente la presenza degli umani, con i quali sembravano abbastanza a loro agio, ma se ci si avvicinava troppo e rumorosamente tendevano a scappare immediatamente.
Impaurite dalle urla di alcuni bambini le abbiamo viste rintanare nelle proprie buche per poi uscire poco dopo che se ne fossero andati.*
Saranno state una decina, alcune mordicchiavano l'erba e le radici delle piante, altre si spiaccicavano sulle rocce a prendere il sole.

Curiosità:

Le marmotte prevedono l’arrivo della primavera ed hanno un giorno a loro dedicato, il 2 febbraio.
Secondo una leggenda difatti in quel giorno si svegliano dal letargo, se vedono la propria ombra vuol dire che ci saranno ulteriori sei settimane d'inverno, se non la vedono vuol dire che la primavera è in arrivo.
In realtà le marmotte in autunno si preparano fisicamente per i loro sei mesi di letargo, durante i quali arrivano a consumare fino a un terzo del loro peso. Decidono di svegliarsi a causa dei cambiamenti di luce e temperatura, fattori determinanti per il consumo di energie.

Un trio formidabile: da sinistra il riposino, al centro un uccello spicca il volo ed a destra una si mette in posa

Let's start this virtual journey of the park with presenting you some special animals:

Groundhog

Highly social animals that communicate with each other by emitting very strong whistles, especially when they feel in danger. According to some scholars, it can be considered a real language.
During our visit we heard them whistle and we could even see them quickly arguing for some reason unknown to us, the scene was very funny and there were no bloodshed! 😆

The land designated for them was strewn with large holes in the ground almost everywhere. Holes where they spent the whole winter lethargy to wake up for spring.
Lethargy in which the body temperature sinks from + 35 °C to + 5 °C, their heart slows from 130 to 15 beats per minute and breathing is barely perceptible.

Last summer I saw them in the mountains but they are extremely shy and very quick, I remember one day I saw one a few meters from me and I did not even have time to get out the camera that disappeared like a flash in the slots of the stones.
They are usually photographed from afar using zoom.
In the park, they did not fear humans too much, with whom they seemed quite, but if they got too close and noisily they run away immediately.
Afraid of the screams of some children, they huddled in their holes immediately and then come back shortly after they left.
They was about ten, some nibbled on the grass and the roots of the plants, others were crushing on the rocks taking the sun.

Curiosity:

Groundhog expect the arrival of spring and have a day dedicated to them, February 2nd.
According to a legend is the day when they wake up from lethargy. If they see their own shadow it means that there will be a further six weeks of winter, if they do not see it means that spring is coming.
In reality, the Groundhog in the autumn prepare themselves physically for their six months of lethargy, during which they consume up to a third of their weight. They decide to wake up due to changes in light and temperature, which are decisive factors for energy consumption.
