Black Wings of Destiny - Live at Pekelin Festival

Black Wings of Destiny band was born in 2009 from the ashes of two Turin metal bands, Sickhead and Concrete Block.

As they say in their official page:

We play metal, we play stoner, we play sludge, southern and rock and roll, we play everything that is not clear. We like to sing the meanness of the world, explore the abysses of the soul and the contradictions of the human being. We do not play to live but we live to play.

Personally I had the opportunity to saw them live few times and they always managed to pleasantly surprise me, I like a lot their their dirty sound, I have the pleasure and luck to know from a really longtime two band members, they are 360° musicians who have been creating high quality music for the past twenty years.

In the video of this post a band member wasn't present, the guitarist Marco Mallamo, so they decide to propose old songs, executed to perfection despite the short time available to try them.

They have so far recorded two albums entitled The Storyteller Part One (2012) and The Storyteller Part Two (2014) and a Promo in 2010 titled About men, stars and planetswhich you can find here. If you see a flyer with their name in your city, if I were you, I would not miss the opportunity to see their live performance!

La band dei Black Wings of Destiny nasce nel 2009 dalle ceneri di due gruppi dell'ambito metal Torinese, i Sickhead prima ed i Concrete Block poi.

Come riassumono nelle loro pagine ufficiali:

Suoniamo metal, suoniamo stoner, suoniamo sludge, southern e rock and roll, suoniamo tutto quello che non sia pulito. Ci piace cantare le meschinità del mondo ed esplorare gli abissi dell’anima e le contraddizioni dell’essere umano. Non suoniamo per vivere ma viviamo per suonare.

Personalmente ho avuto l'occasione di sentirli alcune volte dal vivo e sono riusciti sempre a sorprendermi gradevolmente, il loro sound sporco mi piace un sacco, ho il piacere e la fortuna di conoscere un paio di membri della band da una vita, sono musicisti a 360° che creano musica di alto livello da ormai vent'anni.

*Nel video di questo post manca un componente del gruppo, il chitarrista ***Marco Mallamo **, hanno così optato per proporre alcuni pezzi datati, eseguiti alla perfezione nonostante il poco tempo a loro disposizione per poterli provare.

Hanno finora inciso due dischi intitolati The Storyteller Part One (2012) e The Storyteller Part Two (2014), ed un Promo nel 2010 intitolato About men, stars and planets che potete trovare qui.
