La porta dell'inferno - Hell's Gate [IT-EN]
Hi Steemians!Have you ever heard about the Hell's Gate? It's not a joke, there really is a place called like that, personally I would really like to be able to visit.
This "Gate" is just a crater that is located in the desert of Karakum, in Turkmenistan, called like this because of this huge hole that was created in 1971 when an oil company drilling the ground with a huge drill looking for the black gold, brought down the ground below and the plant was buried, creating an escape route for natural gas (methane), to avoid the dispersion of gas and damage the surrounding flora and fauna, as well as the health of the populations of neighboring countries, decided to give it fire, at the time were convinced that in a few weeks the fire would slowly be consumed, but in reality it has been burning non-stop for 47 years.
Given this infinite duration the hole, of which the total area measures 5,350 m², has conquered this terrible name that seems to come directly from the Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri, from some decades is a a destination much sought after by tourists who come from all over the world to admire it, has become almost a place of worship, often visitors stop for a few nights to camping in the middle of the desert. Every year almost 5,000 people makes a stop in this place that as a fire lover, I find it really fascinating.
The story remains wrapped in an aura of mystery because the local geologists claim that the incident occurred in the 60s and that the gas was not burned until the 80s, in reality there is no official documentation about it nor from the Soviet side nor that from the Turkmen.

Turkmenistan
Uzbekistan
Their nickname comes from the fact that all seven nations name end in "stan".
Ciao Steemians!Avete mai sentito parlare della Porta dell'inferno? Non è uno scherzo, esiste davvero un posto chiamato in questo modo, una di quelle mete che personalmente mi farebbe davvero piacere poter visitare.
Questa "Porta" altro non è un cratere che si trova nel deserto del Karakum, in Turkmenistan soprannominato in questo modo a causa di questo enorme voragine che si è creata nel 1971 quando una compagnia petrolifera perforando il terreno con un'enorme trivella in cerca dell'oro nero, fece crollare il terreno sottostante e l'impianto venne sotterrato, creando una via di fuga per il gas naturale (metano), per evitare la dispersione di gas e danneggiare flora e fauna circostante, nonché la salute delle popolazioni dei paesi vicini, decisero di dargli fuoco, all'epoca erano convinti che in qualche settimana l'incendio si sarebbe lentamente consumato, in realtà brucia senza sosta tutt'ora da 47 anni.
Vista questa infinita durata la voragine, della quale la superficie totale misura 5.350 m², si è conquistata questo terribile nome che sembra provenire direttamente dalla Divina Commedia di Dante Alighieri, da qualche decade è una meta molto ambita dai turisti che provengo da tutte le parti del mondo per ammirarla, è diventato quasi un luogo di culto, spesso i visitatori si fermano qualche notte a campeggiare in pieno deserto. Ogni anno una media di 5.000 persone fa tappa in questo luogo, che da amante del fuoco, trovo davvero affascinante.
La vicenda rimane avvolta in un alone di mistero in quanto i geologi locali sostengono che l'incidente avvenne negli anni '60 e che i gas non furono incendiati fino agli anni '80, in realtà non esiste una documentazione ufficiale a riguardo né da parte Sovietica né che da quella Turkmena.
Location situata in un Nazione non proprio a portata di mano, almeno per il sottoscritto, facente parte delle cosiddette Nazioni Stan, delle quali fanno parte:

Il loro soprannome deriva dal fatto che i loro nomi terminino di tutte e sette le nazioni appunto in "stan".

A vedere dalla panoramica sembra un posto tranquillo dove potersi accampare, a quanto pare la gente fa delle cose assurde nel cratere...come cucinare le uova...🤣
