Batteries without cobalt

A group of researchers developed a new type of battery that need to work manganese instead of cobalt, achieving a capacity increase of 50% compared to traditional batteries. Several tests are still needed to verify the stability of these batteries when used in electronic devices like smartphone, PCs and tablet. The ability to build a battery that does not contains cobalt is very important, because this material is largely extracted in Congo, often by exploiting children as workers.
Scientists and politics
In the United States, to prevent the spread of anti-scientific fake news from influencing political decisions, more and more American scientists are applying. After the election of Donald Trump, the number of political aspirants has increased exponentially. The intent is not only to face the fake news, but also to bring the scientific method in politics.
Evolution today
The Indonesian Bajau population gets food by fishing in apnea. In about a millennium of history, the population has developed a genetic mutation that give to its individuals a spleen 50% larger than the average. This allows them to immerse themselves in apnea up to 70 meters deep.
