WHY CAN'T CHILDREN TOUCH THIS TOYS?

this morning I went down to Locarno and discovered something everyone already knew! :-D Having not passed through the square and having had a lot to do I had lost an "artist" who filled the Piazza Grande in Locarno with plastic lifebuoys.
For some photos this installation may be fine, but otherwise it becomes a very questionable thing.
Whatever wanted to represent who assembled it, the most excited to see it are the children! They see it as a fun park, colorful, where they would like to throw in from the joy! BUT NOT! They have no right to it! They can't even touch them because they're fenced by barriers and a signage tape... and there's also police who's watching plastic flamingos! Are we sure that the mad people are really the few people locked up in the asylums?
Apart from the fact that the "artist" has not done this assembly for free, and there are really good artists in Ticino who have to pay for each exhibition themselves, these lifebuoys have not even been well presented (I have tried to give the maximum in the photos and I don't toke a picture of the details), because apart from these aesthetically ugly barriers and ribbons that disturb the "work", instead of fixing the lifebuoys with a transparent wire he used office twine. In short, not a fine art job!

stamattina sono scesa a Locarno e ho scoperto una cosa che sapevano già tutti!!!! :-D Non essendo passata in Piazza e avendo avuto parecchio da fare mi ero persa un "artista" che ha riempito la Piazza Grande di Locarno con dei salvagenti di plastica.
Per qualche foto questa installazione può anche andare bene, ma per il resto diventa una cosa molto discutibile.
Uguale cosa abbia voluto rappresentare chi l' ha assemblato, quelli più emozionati a vederlo sono i bambini! Lo vedono come un parco di divertimento, colorato, dove si vorrebbero gettare dentro dalla gioia!!! E INVECE NO! Non ne hanno il diritto! No li possono nemmeno toccare perchè sono recintati da barriere e da un nastro segnaletico.... e c' è pure la polizia che sta sorvegliando dei flaminghi in plastica!!!! Siamo sicuri che i matti siano veramente quei pochi rinchiusi nei manicomi?
A parte che l' "artista" non ha fatto questo assemblaggio gratuitamente, e vi sono davvero bravi artisti in Ticino che devono pagarsi ogni mostra da se, questi salvagenti non sono nemmeno stati presentati bene (io ho cercato di dare il massimo nelle foto e ho traliasciato di fotografare i dettagli), perchè a parte queste barriere e nastri brutti esteticamente che disturbano l' "opera", anziché fissare i salvagenti con un filo trasparente ha utilizzato lo spago per ufficio. Insomma un lavoro da montanaro!
As for the meaning it made me think of Friendly Floatees, 28,000 plastic ducks scattered at sea in 1992, but also animals kept in not large enough spaces ..... since there was no title anywhere I interpreted it in this way.

Per quanto riguarda il significato mi ha fatto pensare alle Friendly Floatees, 28'000 paperelle di plastica disperse in mare nel 1992, ma anche agli animali tenuti in spazi non sufficiemente grandi.... siccome non c' era il titolo da nessuna parte l' ho interpretato così.
Voi cosa ne pensate?

Abbiamo voluto l'arte contemporanea basata su continue provocazioni sempre più ridicole? ecco il risultato.
Purtroppo è così, hanno problemi a dare soldi alla Scala di Milano, ma per queste cose non mancano mai :-D

Ciao Caroline! L'uso del termine "artista" è molto abusato negli ultimi tempi. Secondo me hai detto tutto tu con questa frase:

Ciao Caroline! Visivamente è d'impatto e mi piace il contrasto con gli edifici intorno, probabilmente perché dalle tue foto non vedo i terribili fili di cui parli, ma il fatto di non poterci giocare mi rattrista... Sarebbe stato molto bello "nuotare" nella piazza :)

Interessante.. i like your reflections on it, if kids (and grown ups!) Could play it would be really great, but i often find that the "no touch" thing creates a barrier between art and people that makes it difficult to connect with art. My first impression was that it could show the sea full of plastic..
Thank you, you're right, sometimes it is difficult.... I would like to make a project making sculptures in different materials for blind people.... I hope I can start soon :-D

Ho visto che già qualcuno ha fatto atti di vandalismo. L’artista diceva che dopo li avrebbe voluto regalare a bambini... insomma non so cosa pensarne...
Ovviamente sono contro gli atti di vandalismo, ma sono stati dei ragazzini in pubertà, non degli adulti meno male... lo so che li regalava, ma tutti i bambini che sono venuti per Pasqua sono già tornati in Svizzera interna, e purtroppo vengono regalati solo dopo le feste.... Sarebbe stato bello offrire dei gessetti ai bambini e farli colorare i ciotoli della piazza come delle uova di Pasqua p.es, ma si può sempre ancora fare :-D
