Does Starbucks support Israeli genocide?
Based on the protests calling for boycotting Starbucks, you'd think they were.
Starbucks closed it's last remaining locations in Israel back in 2003. As of right now, there are no Starbucks in Israel.
Where did the idea that they support Israel come from?
On October 7th, 2023, Starbucks Worker United tweeted support for "the Palestinian cause" (I use quotes because the photo accompanying the tweet showed Hamas forces destroying the barrier).
Starbucks Workers United is not affiliated with Starbucks, but that didn't stop Starbucks for being blamed for "supporting jihad terrorists.". They were accused of being TOO supportive of Palestine. Senators were calling on Starbucks to fire anyone associated with Starbucks Workers United.
Starbucks ended up suing Starbucks Workers United for copyright infringement, for use of their name and a similar logo. This got spun into "Starbucks is suing their union for supporting Palestine" which got spun even further into "Starbucks is directly supporting Israeli genocide."
Not for nothing, but Starbucks former CEO is an outspoken Zionist. However, he is not with Starbucks anymore, and is only brought on as a consultant from time to time.
