In its attempts to defend itself from a campaign openly motivated by genocide, and in the aftermath of an attack that systematically targeted Israeli civilians, including infants and the use of systematic sexual violence, Israel is fighting with unprecedented restraint.

The civilian to combatant kill ratio in Gaza, even granting Hamas’ own casualty figures (which are plainly a lie) is currently less than 1.3:1.

The average in modern urban warfare is ~9:1

Higher intensity conflicts generally have lower civilian casualty rates, as seen here:

US in Afganistan - 4:1 (it was closer to 3-1 before Trump ratcheted up the body count and began targeting civilians in 2017)

Allies in Korean war - 3:1
US in Vietnam war - 3:1
Russia in Chechen war - 7:1
US in Iraq war - 4:1
Lebanon Civil War - 5:1

The IDF is doing extremely well in preventing civilian deaths, in a conflict where its enemy is doing everything possible to maximize civilian casualties, including the use of human shields, fighting in one of the most densely populated areas in the world against an enemy with an extensive underground tunnel system which extensively uses civilian infrastructure.

Enemy fighters do not wear uniforms.

Despite all of this, you people, happy to ignore such conflicts as the Tigray War, the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the Civil War in Myanmar, the ongoing Sudanese Civil War, and so forth, routinely accuse Israel of carrying out a “genocide.”
