Upcoming train wreck in Israeli real estate market
Minister Kahlon's interference in the Israeli housing market in an attempt to create lower prices has set the scene for a train wreck!

I've been saying for years that Minister Kahlon was creating a long term disaster.
He has dramatically harmed future supply in a country with by far the fastest growing first world population (3.15 children per woman average).
With a birthrate twice the OECD average and three times that of Japan & S Korea, Israel is going to need to build a huge number of new apartments.
Instead Kahlon has scared away developers and investors ensuring future supply will never be able to meet demand.
To make matters worse his Buyer Price Plan satisfies current demand with future supply further reducing future supply.
In a couple of years, prices are going to skyrocket as the basic economics of supply and demand demolishes Kahlon's arrogant delusions.
I hope he pays a big political price.
As an Architect maybe I should move to Israel.

Well Israel is growing in population much faster than any other advanced economy so it needs lots of people in building industries.

Plenty of options to volunteer on archeological digs in Israel. They find amazing stuff all the time. There is a whole process of archeological protection before any major construction.
