Seureudong Beach

The area is often called Seureudong. Its name is taken from a small island located there. The island is formed from volcanic rock is located not far from the Aceh Mainland, only about 50 meters apart. Achieving it, visitors only need to cross the shallow strait. If you do not dare, wait for the sea water to recede.

Sea water will recede as the sun begins to incline westward. Look around, coral reefs and seaweed will be visible, even appearing on the surface of the water. The water is so clear and intriguing. Take a good look into the water, the various marine biota visible to the eye easily. No wonder this area is often used as research destination one of the renowned campus in Aceh.

Visitors who come, will also be lulled with views of the verdant mountains and rocks of waves barrier. The ranks of rock along the Seureudong coastline will meet later with white sand, not far from the shallow strait.

On this island there are also reported three hidden cave. If you climb the summit of Seureudong, one of the caves can be found. It is not too broad. But, at least this object could offer other interesting things. Up to the summit, small waves are seen continuing in a blue sea.

Seureudong is a haven for anglers. Almost every afternoon people will come here. The fish can be seen freely from above the island, sometimes even large turtles and sharks can be seen with the naked eye.

It is rather isolated to get to this place. The destination direction is on the right side of Sawang FLP (Fish Landing Port), continuing straight west to meet the hills. From here will look Sereudong Island that separates itself from the hills on the mainland. Keep going up, until then meet with a white sandy beach.

Seureudong has an unexplored ecosystem, especially under the sea. This is what causes the prohibition of diving activities. In addition to the slightly strong currents, reportedly also many sharks that still inhabit these waters. However, why not for those of you who love challenging sports.

Of course an interesting experience if you can visit and dive here. Visitors will surely be mesmerized by its tranquil nature on the banks of the Indian Ocean.[]
