SEXUAL INTERCOURSE

This Is a natural phenomenon in every living organism. It is an instinct implanted into the genes of each living creature. Attraction to the opposite sex has been the key behind the reproduction and survival of each species. Most species have only seasonal sexual necessity only for limited period.

Human beings, on the other hand, throughout ages have adopted several ways of fulfilling sexual urges including masturbation, homosexuality and intercourse between opposite sex.

Masturbation which is known as "istimna" in Islamic terminology, means self stimulation of the genital part(s) till one achieves ejaculation or orgasm.

Homosexuality which is now becoming acceptable in the western part of the world is a way of fulfilling the sexual urge between of same sex.
These two acts (masturbation and homosexuality) are islamically forbidden.
However, Islam allows sexual intercourse between opposite sex with certain restrictions.

PREMARITAL SEX:

This is a sexual activity practiced by persons who are unmarried. The Islamic term is "zina", which connotes any form of sexual intercourse between opposite sex out of marriage contract.
Quran 23:5-6:

_ "the believers are those who protected their sexual organs except from their spouse………."_

Therefore, whosoever seeks more beyond that (sexual gratification) then they are the transgressors. The last statement makes it clear that any sexual gratification outside marriage is considered a transgression of the law of God. The offense is punishable by the Islamic court (under sharia).

The only acceptable way of satisfying sexual urge in Islam is that which takes place within marriage contract. Islam does not only consider this as natural satisfaction but also as act of worship that attracts reward(s).
Prophet Muhammad (PBH) said (as reported by An - nawawi):

"in your every sexual engagement there is (reward of charity)".

SEXUAL TECHNIQUES

Whatever is pleasing and satisfying to both the husband and the wife is right and proper. And whatever is mutually displeasing is wrong.
Quran 2:223:

" your woman are a tilt for you. So go in to your tilt as you like."

SEXUAL TECHNIQUES ARE:

(1) Fore play
(2) Styles
(3) Oral sex
(4) Anal sex

* * Fore play:

This is a set of emotional and physical intimate acts between two parties (husband and wife), which is meant to create sexual arousal and desire for sexual intercourse. It is islamically acceptable because Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)said:

" three people are cruel…….. A person who has sexual intercourse with his wife before fore play . When any one of you has intercourse with his wife, he should not go to her like birds."

* * Styles:

Any preferable styles mutually agreed upon should be islamically acceptable. So far penetration is through the normal place and not the female anus. Prophet Muhammad (PBH) said vaginal penetration may take place through the front or back as long as anal sex and sex during menstruation is avoided.

* * Oral sex:

Sexual activities in which the genitals of one partner are stimulated by the mouth of the other. Prophet Muhammad (PBH) doesn’t mention anything about oral sex permission. But shafi'i and Anbali consider sperm to be pure. But stated that is unlawful to swallow the fluid. Therefore oral sex is not forbidden, but it is disliked if it is use as means of stimulation alone and swallowing of the sperm should be avoided. Then, oral sex is islamically disliked, however, it is not forbidden.

* * Anal sex:

Sexual activities involving penetration of the anus.
Prophet Muhammad (PBH) said:

" vaginal penetration may take place through the front or back as long as anal sex and sex during menstruation is avoided".

Therefore we should not make sexual intercourse with our wives in two conditions:

(1) When they are physically or mentally ill
(2) During their menstruation.

Quran 2:222:

"they will ask you about menstruation say it is harmful, so keep away from women during it. Do not approach them until they are purified of it. When they are purified you may approach them as Allah has ordained".
