Iris- the Eyes have it.

Iris are an extremely diverse group of plants. Their flowers come in a multitude of colours, and the plants are found all over the world in many different environments. On thing they all have in common is their long, strap like leaves. These plants are a great asset to any garden, and prefer dappled sunlight or full sun to look their best. They flower in Springtime. The Iris pictured are a type of "Bog Iris" . These prefer their roots to be wet most of the time, and as you can see, these Iris are growing on a container which is in the middle of a pond. iris have an enlarged root called a stolon, and the plant can be divided each year to create more which can be planted separately. The white flowers are brightening this garden in the Northern side of Sydney.
