Ireland and Northern Ireland are very similar to Scotland the landscape, accents, dialogue, alcohol, cuisine, legends, myths and we all adore a great crack otherwards a laugh.
In Northern Ireland you have the Giant`s Causeway. The legend has it that their was a Irish giant and Scottish giant. The path of the Causeway led from Ireland to Scotland. Anyway both giants fought each other and the Scottish giant beat the Irish giant and then the Scottish giant smashed up the path of the Causeway so the Irish giant could never return to Scotland.
I grew up in the Scottish Highlands.

That can't be true. We all know the Scottish giant would never beat an Irish giant. :)
That`s the legend ask any Irishman or Scotsman about it they will give you the same story as me or check it out on You Tube.
