Irish Shower-thought
In Ireland we have a minimum population size before a town can be considered a city, however the largest city in the country is usually just called "Town".

Mystified. Maybe I need to sleep and read this sentence again in the morning;)
Edit: On second thoughts.......should country read county?
Nope, country. It probably only applies within 50 km of Dublin though, but let's say you live just outside a decent sized satellite town like Swords or Maynooth. If someone says "I'm heading into town", you know they mean Dublin city, and not the actual nearby town.
There must be a census
So that the state can raise the standard of living
A very great article was well published
That means it is still not considered a city yet right? But l think Ireland is well populated or maybe not.. Thanks for this anyway @demotruk
I guess it was a town then turn city and maybe you guys are already used to calling it "Town".
