CITI-IRB Certification
Information for newcomers...
A few months ago, a fellow academic I worked with had shared that "Rutgers University had moved over to a CITI IRB certification. If you share your certification with me, I can share the data with you."
Naturally, I needed a CITI IRB cert to do some analysis on real data. After a bit of research, I made it to the following site and began taking the online courses for "IRB Members and Professional HSP / IRB program staff - Social/Behavioral - Basic Course".
https://www.citiprogram.org
There are about 15 courses with small 3-7 question quizzes. It still takes an entire workday to complete (due to maintaining my 39-year-old insanity of reading nearly 240 pages ((when copied into Microsoft Word))). Grab some coffee before you begin.
In reading these protocols, one thing I began to realize: you could spend weeks manipulating loopholes to use international studies in profitable ways. And those thoughts also made me think about all the high school students I use to teach... and all the "non-profit" corporations they created by the end of their secondary schooling. How did they know?
