Two weeks ago, I learned from an Iranian friend that he had moved to Turkey, and his eldest son had already been in Istanbul for a year, where he purchased property and registered a company. This allows them to avoid business sanctions risks while also implying that the friend may have limited time to return to Iran in his later years. Perhaps in the near future, the friend's eldest son can obtain Turkish citizenship. However, currently, the friend's conversations are filled with a sense of helplessness. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is inevitable, only the timing and outcomes may differ. Now is a crucial moment, with a high possibility of Arab countries achieving victory and Palestinians gaining what they desire. Unfortunately, the unexpected death of the Iranian president before the escalation of the war has sparked numerous rumors and speculations about who was behind it and which country was pulling the strings. However, these details are no longer important. The ultimate result is that the death of the Iranian president has ignited a new Middle Eastern war. This reminds me of the famous Sarajevo incident.

History has remarkable similarities. Once a war starts, the truth is often the first casualty. Unfortunately, it seems that we no longer care about the origins of these conflicts. Public opinion tends to sympathize with the weak, without much concern about how to resolve the situation. Let's go back to October 7th last year when the conflict was triggered by Hamas firing rockets. However, before that, the Israeli army had engaged in conflicts with Palestinian armed groups in the West Bank, resulting in casualties. The rocket attack was retaliation against Israel. The previous debates about right and wrong have become less important, as a real armed conflict often reveals the truth of winners and losers, allowing the world to see the situation clearly once again.

As an observer, I am concerned about seeing many comments online from people who don't have a deep understanding of history and mistakenly confuse Iran with Arab countries. In reality, Iran is not an Arab country. It is a conflict between Islam and Judaism, rather than between Arabs and Jews. It is crucial to recognize that Iran is not part of the Arab world. Many Arab countries that hold hostility towards Israel do not see Iran as their leader but rather as a supporter. However, due to the default of Saudi Arabia, Iran now feels a sense of leadership. It can be reasonably explained that the escalation of this war involves the participation of Arab countries and the unity of Iran with other Islamic nations. Additionally, it is important to note that Iran is not the one shouting "STOP," so it still needs to exercise some restraint in conflicts in Yemen and Lebanon. Hopefully, this war can bring about a longer period of peace in the region.
