Missiles Strike Iranian Oil Tanker Near Saudi Port

in #iran5 years ago

On Friday, two missiles struck and hit an oil tanker belonging to the National Iranian Oil Company, officials say the missile may have come from Saudi soil but the NIOC dismissed this claim later. What's stranger is that there is no evidence of this attack and the tanker is still moving on its course. Could this have been an attempt to stir up false stories in order to prompt some kind of retaliation?

So far, no response from Saudi Arabia has been released on the event, but Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi said according to the semi-official Fars News Agency: "Those behind this dangerous adventurism are responsible for the consequences of such act." They have also reported this attack to cause oil to leak into the Red Sea. Iranian state TV earlier identified the vessel as the Sinopa, but the NIOC later said it was the Sabiti, so the whole story seems a little fishy. By the changing stories, accusations of terrorism then retracting statements it does seem like a completely fabricated story by Iran. What do you think? Leave your thoughts below! Have a nice day!
