After winning the toss RCB elected to field first. Mumbai had a great start with bat as both the openers scored quickly and by the end of powerplay they have made 52 runs. RCB applied the brakes by introducing chahal as he strikes in his 3rd delivery by removing decock. Soon rohit got out while trying to play a pull shot of umesh. Yuvi and suryakumar then decided to up the ante, while yuvi hit chahal for 3 concecutive sixes but while trying to hit 4th six in a row he got out and chahal finishes his spell with four wickets to his name. At one stage they were 124/2 then they slipped to 147/7 and RCB looks finish the Mumbai innings for below par score but that pandya's cameo in the end changed the complete scenario of the match as he ended up scoring 32 off just 14 balls and got Mumbai to a score of 187.

While chasing rcb had a good start as both the openers shown aggression from very first ball. But direct hit from Rohit sharma has seen the end of moeen Ali. In comes kohli and he targeted bumrah and hit 3 boundaries of him later he got dismissed by the same bowler. ABD got a life on his very first ball thanks to yuvraj who drop a simple catch at first slip. Hitmyer didn't do much in his 2nd match as well as he dismissed for just 5 runs. Bumrah being a world's best bowler he has consumed only 9 runs off his last two overs but Because of the presence of abd RCB fans still had a hope that the match will be RCB's. It all comes to last over needing of 17 runs. Malinga to bowl and shivam dube is on strike he hit first ball for a six. Equation becomes 11 off 5. Second ball drop catch by bumrah and more importantly abd got a strike but malinga being a malinga he executed his yorkers and didn't give any room for abd to hit runs as a result MI won the match by 5 runs. Yuvraj will be very pleased by this result because of his mistake MI might have lose the match but in the end they have won and opened their account in this year's ipl.

One more nail bitting contest comes to end. Feels sad for RCB they somehow finds a way to lose the game 🤷‍♂️
