IPL 2022 Indian Premier League Retention List

We will start with defending champions Chennai Super King, they have retained Captain Cool M.S. Dhoni, along with rising opener Ruturaj Gaikwad, English allrounder Moeen Ali and the x factor player Ravindra Jadeja.

They look to fill their team with fast bowlers in the upcoming auction.

Next up is Shah Rukh Khan's team Kolkata Knight Riders, they have retained the upcoming youngster Venkatesh Iyer, who has recently played for Indian National Team as well.

Apart from him, they have retained the dynamic Caribbean duo of Andre Russell and Sunil Narine. Andre Russell is and explosive batsman with handy medium pace bowling. Sunil Narine is a mystery spinner with a surprise batting ability.

Their 4th retention is mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy. The owners have kept faith in him.

KKR will look to buy a new captain for the team.

Let's focus on Delhi Capitals now, They have retained their captain Rishabh Pant, opening batsman Prithvi Shaw, all rounder Axar Patel and South African Speedster Anrich Nortje. They had to let go Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Ravi Ashwin and Kagiso Rabada. It will be interesting to see, if they are going to buy them back in the auction.

Now let's look Royal Challengers Bangalore, Virat Kohli has been retained as usual, but he won't be the captain. They have retained Australia batsman Glenn Maxwell and India fast bowler Mohammad Siraj. They would like to buy a new captain for their team and also some batsmen and bowler for RCB.

Next up is Mumbai Indians, they finished 5th is the points table and failed to qualify for the play offs in the last season. They have retained captain Rohit Sharma, batsman Suryakumar Yadav, West Indian allrounder Kieron Pollard, and pace bowling spear head Jasprit Bumrah. They would like to buy back the remaining players of the core team, players like Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Ishan Kishan, Quinton De Kock, Trent Boult, Rahul Chahar etc.

The next team is Sunrisers Hyderabad, they have retained their captain New Zealander batsman Kane Williamson, local all rounder Abdul Samad and the upcoming fast bowler Umran Malik. They will look to buy new batsman and bowlers for new season.

Now we're going to look at the Rajasthan Royals, they have retained their captain Sanju Samson, English wicket keeper batsman Jos Buttler and local opener Yashasvi Jaiswal. They would like to buy some bowler and allrounder for the rest of the team.

Last team to be talked about is Punjab Kings, they have retained opener Mayank Agarwal and fast bowler Arshdeep Singh. They would like to fill the team with new player at all positions.
