iPhone 11 release date and rumours: Could the iPhone 11 cost half of what the iPhone X did?
It's rumour time! While we're still months away from a potential iPhone 11 or iPhone XI launch, the rumour mill waits for no man, and is continuing to churn out hot reports on what the iPhone 11 will eventually look like.
The latest on the scene is that the iPhone 11 – or whatever it will eventually be dubbed – may retail at a much lower price point than its predecessor, Apple's iPhone X, which retailed at a cool $999 (£999). KGI analyst and renowned Apple commentator Ming-Chi Kuo dropped the tidbit that Apple is gearing up to launch a 6.1in iPhone this year, which will reportedly retail at much more affordable $550 (£390 with the exchange rate, although a £550/£500 price point is more likely given precedent).
What's more, a new report from the Taiwanese publication, Economic Daily News, suggests that when the iPhone 11 does eventually arrive, it will be kitted out with three fancy new rear cameras.
Citing industry sources, the report claims that the next iPhone will have three 12-megapixel cameras on the rear and a 5x zoom. There's no information on what kind of zoom it will use (optical, digital or a hybrid of both), but if we want to get an idea of what the triple-lens camera will look like, we just have to take a look at Huawei's new P20 Pro smartphone.

The new P20 Pro has a primary 40-megapixel f/1.8 lens, a 20-megapixel f/1.6 monochrome lens and an 8-megapixel f/2.4 telephoto lens. The P20 Pro does, however, have 3x optical zoom, so we're not sure if the 5x zoom is accurate, depending on which type of zoom the report is talking about.
The bad thing? It apparently won't be released until 2019. That doesn't mean we won't be getting an iPhone 11 this year, but it might mean that we won't see a triple-lens camera until the third-generation iPhone X is released.
