Steps to help you find your IOTA balance!
Hello everyone,
I am a IOTA long-term holder and I recently tried to log-in to my IOTA light wallet where I saw the balance was 0 and the history showed 0 transactions! I was panicked. I started reaching for the same and found some useful articles online which helped me recover my balance.
For those who have the same issue, don't panic, your IOTA should be safe. The IOTA team had upgraded the service and had added snapshot. You can refer the link mentioned below for more information regarding IOTA snapshot.

Here are few steps you can follow to recover your account balance.
If you have older version of IOTA light wallet, please download the latest version from https://github.com/iotaledger/wallet/releases
(I have personally downloaded version 2.5.7 and works well).Follow the instruction on how to download the new wallet. (Refer to youtube videos if necessary )

Once you download the wallet, replace it with the new wallet if you have to do so. (For Mac users it won't be identified hence, go to System Preferences--> Security & Privacy --> Allow)
Once you open your wallet, enter your seed/ key, if you are a new user refer to the videos above on how to generate the seed.
You will see some address in that wallet. Click on Attach to Tangle. It will take a while to attach to the tangle.
Keep generating new addresses until you recover all the balance. (If you remember how many transaction/ addresses were there in your wallet, it will the same number that you need to generate, might be 10, 25, 100, so on).
Advice:
"Keep the seed safe and store it properly. Avoid storing seed on your laptop, cloud or on the internet as it can be accessible if your device is hacked. Best is to write on a piece of paper and store and laminate. "
