Feathercoin kind of reminds me of the relationship between bitcoin and litecoin. It's a fork of bitcoin core, but has a lower blocktime than litecoin. Btc max supply ~ 21M Ltc max supply ~ 83M Ftc max supply ~ 336M
Btc block time ~ 12min? Ltc block time ~ 4min? Ftc block time ~ 1min
FTC does have a lot of benefits over other coins. just ts age alone is something few other coins can ever match. I can see FTC running well along side BTC and LTC, With SegWit and LN to do atomic swaps between the three. Bitcoin is gold, a solid store of value - used for large purchases. Litecoin is Silver, a decent store of value but easier to trade with - medium sized purchases. Feathercoin is bronze (?) a good store of value but capable of smaller transactions due to its faster blocks and more capable volume.There will be other coins that could be used as currency but will likely be used for other reasons. Storj (or similar) for cloud file storage, Nexus for distributed global mesh network and quantum resistance, Monero for anonymous transactions, etc.Feathercoin used to be a top 10 (5?) at one time. I can see it regaining that title in the future.
