Secret meeting of miners and hardfork up to 2 MB

in #investments8 years ago

The debate over the size of the block again come to the fore, as several Bitcoin developers, including Gregory Maxwell and Mark Fridenbah of Blockstream, opposed the consensus of Hong Kong - perhaps the most important official document in the history of Bitcoin.
According to information that has been obtained as a result of a secret meeting between the major mining pools, representing more than 75% of the network capacity, a consensus was reached for hardforka to 2MB, if Bitcoin Core developers have not released a new client Bitcoin Core unit with 2MB to August 1, 2016.
The clearest sign that something is afoot, may be called uncharacteristic publication HaoBTC - the most devoted supporter Bitcoin Core.
The agreement "Roundtable Consensus" states that "business representatives and members of the community agreed to launch SegWit to the time that will be launched in version hardfork Bitcoin Core". According to the plan, SegWit to be released in April 2016, and hardfork should be available from July 2016.
Miner express their thoughts very clear. In HaoBtc said:
"There is no doubt that the fork to 2MB important agreement Roundtable Consensus. If people do not think about it seriously, they would not have appointed a specific time frame. Therefore, hardforka code should be announced in July 2016."
And now, when July begins, there is a growing concern - whether the developers are ready to deliver on its promises, and if at all any results in recent months, met to achieve that goal.
Leaked Assembly decision, which allegedly took place among the major miners, is unlikely to be completely accurate in the details, but the general direction is consistent with recent statements made by miners. In particular, the founder Bitmain Cihan woo more and more speaks for itself in uncharacteristic manner in some public statements indicating that the emerging shift in mayningovom community.
Another very influential person in the sector of mining is Wang Chung - founder F2Pool. He has publicly stated that he feels deceived Adam Beck, president Blockstream, have signed the Roundtable Consensus on his own behalf and not as president Blockstream.
It was assumed that the agreement will be binding, at least for Blockstream founders. Because of this episode it is very obvious that Wang Chong supports the introduction hardforka, not the client Bitcoin Core, if the developers do not release the customer from hardforkom.
It is now clear how much has changed in the recent attitude of the previously strong supporters Bitcoin Core, such as HaoBtc and BTCC. Public intervention HaoBTC lends credence to the rumors, and the price immediately rose to $ 0, as soon as the rumor began to circulate among the miners hard.
It is unclear how Core developers will respond. This decision drags criticism of centralized power, where developers decide political questions, even of the whole system, which increases the risk of legal liability and threatens to escalate into open war with the miners, who have the full support of almost all well-known representatives of business Bitcoin.
Anyway, now I want to emphasize that any decision is better than no solution because no one benefits from further delaying the matter. Hardfork or not, the Bitcoin community must make a decisive vote and leave this issue behind, so that we can focus on building the future and not spend our energy in endless discussions.
