American Bitcoin entrepreneur served time in prison for collaboration with the Silk Road website

Businessman Charlie Shrem was released after a year and four months in prison Lewisburg city. This Shrem said in his blog.

"I am grateful to the administration for the opportunity to be back home," - said Shrem.

Businessman thanked all members of the Bitcoin community for their support and said he was ready for new projects.

In the early 2010s Charlie Shrem was a major Bitcoin entrepreneurs in the United States. Along with several activists, he created the company BitInstant, which quickly became the largest stock exchange for the sale of Bitcoin. The company has attracted investment of $ 1.5 million from the Fund and the Winklevoss brothers fell victim to the crisis in 2013.

In January 2014 Shrem was detained by police when crossing the US border at JFK airport in New York. He was charged with money laundering site Silk Road, which was used by cybercriminals to sell drugs.

In December 2014 Judge Jed Rakoff Shrema sentenced to two years in prison. After attempts to appeal against the verdict, Shrem surrendered and went to serve his sentence in the prison of Louisbourg.
