US Stock Market Is Slowing Down - 2018-02-03
As you can see from the graphs below, US stock prices seem to be slowing down.
The true correction might happen when the indices are (nearly) touching the 200 EMA, that is normally the indication of “buying the dip”. This small correction mostly will touch the 50 EMA, quite far from the 200 EMA at this point.
This slowing down period is also confirmed by the downtrend of the MACD as you can see from the pictures above.
There’s an old “adage”: sell in May and go away. Well, today is just the start of February. We still have three (3) months to go, and it might / might not be true. So, I think a slowing down is going to happen.
Conclusion: The stock market is not giving a really clear buy / sell signal. If you are holding some stocks, you might want to just hold them except there are some fundamental changes. If you are not holding some stocks, it might be better for you to wait for a correction before entering the market.
