hey, thanks for this. I dont know anything about investing and I don't have any money, but what I have been doing just recently is making my steemit posts 50/50 payout so that I have some SBD to exchange for bitcoin and then maybe I can make a few miniature investments in some other coins (so I at least FEEL like I made some kind of effort to have a mixed portfolio, instead of just hoping that steem does well). So this sort of pointer is very helpful....Im a bit green in these matters and having had a quick glance at the elyte website I was a bit in over my head....also I couldn't easily spot how I could actually purchase some. Ive been having enough trouble getting my head around bittrex! And now it seems apparent that I will need to have binance as well if Im going to invest in some bitshares (which is something else Ive been recommended).....but honestly, for someone who's not very tech savvy who is just trying to dip their toes in and test the water, it is quite an overwhelming environment! The more pointer posts like this and tutorials for the very basics in navigating the various wallets, markets and applications the better!
I agree with you. For elyte.io it is very easy to join their crowdsale as tokens are its very cheap now-which will change soon. Use myetherwallet.com or metamask to buy the token ...contract info is in the whitelist / crowdsale section of their website. Moreover they are very helpful in their telegram group..good luck

Once you start a power down it will take 13 weeks to fully convert your steem power to steem. Every week 1/13th of the amount you want to power down will be converted to Steem.
This is to make sure that people don't cash out SP instantaneously and hence have long term interest of the platform on their mind.
This is also a security measure as you can initiate an account recovery in case you realise your account is hacked. The hacker cannot get away with all the SP as it will take time to be converted into Steem which can be transferred to exchanges.

Lol not 2 years time rather in few weeks gradually. Its also safe against hacking because it takes time to power down and at that time, your account will be recovered unlike steem and sbd which can be stolen very fast. Powering up is a guarantee investment for your future my dearest one...keep steeming .
but there is a disadvantage that when we hold steem power we can power down immediately so in case market crash or we need to cash out then we got no chance what do you say about this?
You can always power down however it takes time to get it out-hence all the benefots in holding. Moreover if your account is hacked, your steem power cant be stolen so fast isnt it?
ohhh dont scare me are there any cases of steem accounts being hacked and if they got hacked is there any option to get them back i dont think so?
Absolutely many phishing issues ie see my older posts for details...however before they can power down your steem ie for Steem power holders, you will have enough time to report and recover...but no chance for steem and steem dollars in wallet
Without a doubt steem is the key to future success. It might have its up and down but it will surely became one of the best crypto in the market.
