5 principles of a non-waste way of life

The population of the Earth is about 7.5 billion people. Every day residents of developed countries drink water from plastic bottles, use disposable dishes, buy packages in stores. What happens next with all this plastic?

The rate of consumption of plastic greatly exceeds the speed of its processing, and it would be nice for everyone to try to change the situation.

1. Buy a reusable water bottle
   Own a bottle of water will not only save you from thirst and from unnecessary waste of money, but will also provide an opportunity to experiment with the taste of the drink. The most environmentally friendly alternative are metal and glass bottles.

2. Replace the plastic bags with a reusable cloth bag. Almost every trip to the store ends with the purchase of a plastic bag. It performs its function for a few minutes, after which it appears in the garbage dump as a garbage or trash bag. A good alternative are small fabric bags. In some stores they can be bought directly at the checkout. They almost do not tear, do not crumple and take up little space.

3. Recycle food waste and paper in compost. This method is ideal for the summer season. The creation of a compost heap will reduce the amount of waste and facilitate the care of the garden and kitchen garden.

4. Buy combs and toothbrushes made of wood. They are not inferior to conventional plastic in neither price, nor in functionality. Moreover, some wood species, for example bamboo, have an antibacterial effect.

5. To give preference to glass storage systems. They are not only prettier than plastic containers, but also do not harm health.

The switch from disposable to reusable products reduces the amount of plastic waste, and also significantly reduces costs for some items in the budget. But even if you are not ready to follow these principles, you can always help the Earth by simply not throwing garbage on the roadside or in the bushes.
