TECHNOLOGY: THE IDEA TODAY, THE REALITY OF TOMORROW

This is the theme of our capstone projects/theses exhibit we held last February 15, 2018.

Every year the University of Cebu LM is holding an exhibit to showcase the different designs and inventions of our graduating students in the college of computer studies and engineering. The capstone project is considered as final requirement of the course. Their designs aimed to address community problems and how technology could assist in solving them.

Let me show you some of the designs of my advisory class.

BASURAJUAN.

A Robotic garbage collector. It is an Arduino-uno driven machine that collects garbage in the water with ultrasonic sensor that detects the presence of the floating garbage. It has servo motors which are used to collect the garbage. It has also has a bluetooth device which sends signal to the owner when the garbage bag is already full.

MYDOCTOR

It is a mobile application that would help people in searching for doctors of specific field of specialization. It also allows patients to set appointment using their mobile phones. Doctor and patient could even see the consultation logs privately.

CAMPUSCONNECT

A web application with mobile support system which help students, parents and teachers get updated about school activities. For students to be informed of their academic performance.

ATTENDANCE MONITORING SYSTEM USING FACE RECOGNITION

This app helped the department in checking teachers' attendance in every class using face recognition algorithm.

TYMLOG

A web-based project manangment application system that monitors project progress, monitors progress of a team member's work progress including the project expenses.

BAYANIONE

A web-based application system with mobile support which helps disaster response group in providing an immediate response to the victims of natural calamities, fire and others.

These are just some of the many promising designs of our students. Who knows, we will be using them in the future.
