My Introduction
When I was in secondary school, I was awarded overall best mathematics student and Overall third best graduating student.
I discovered that my then mathematics teacher would refer younger students to me to explain any mathematics problem they couldn't solve. I taught may be its just because I was the best graduating student but I have come to discover there was more to it. I not only knew the subject, I knew how to transfer the knowledge. There are people who know the subject but can not Tutor other people because they lack the skill.
Years passed and I found myself though an engineering student, always helping friends and loved ones to understand what they were learning.
During NYSC, I started to teach one child who came 10th usually in class and within one term, she came first. The school had to call the attention of her mum and she affirmed that She did something different this year. She employed a private Tutor. The school disbelieved the result and gave her second position saying they will monitor her more closely the next term.
Guess what, she emerged first again! Then she left the realm of just being a regular student.
