Hello Steemit... Introducing Myself! I code and I travel.

in #introduction7 years ago (edited)

Hello fellow Steemians, I am very happy to be a part of Steemit. After waiting for 9 days I got approved and suddenly my life appears to be shining more than ever. Please pardon if this post becomes embarrassing at some point. However, I'll try not to screw it up.
So, I got approved yesterday and after digging more about the Steemit network, I think I am ready to share my very first post here with the wonderful Steemit community.

Seriously, I had no idea that something like Steemit can ever be a reality. I came to know about Steemit from a youtube video and the first impression I had was, crap here we have one more scam. But the word cryptocurrency kept me interested, so I kept on digging further. After watching two or three videos about Steemit, I researched and ended up on the Steemit website. I read a few blog posts there. "Seems legit, but How" is what bothered me. I researched more, on the blockchain technology, Steem's history and any fellow companies which are doing the same what Steemit is doing (so I came across Akasha Project).

Now, I was more confused, my mind was trying hard to make sense of all this and really not willing to accept that something like this can ever be a possibility. I did hear the cryptocurrency buzzword many times, but never really looked into it, until now. So, I delved deeper and came across interviews of the Steemit founders on Youtube. Then, I came across DTube. This was enough to give my mind a bumpy ride. I must tell you, I have wasted a lot of dollars in scammy money making schemes and decided at one point in my life to stay away from all of what I don't understand.

But this felt different somehow, the more I researched, the more convinced I found myself. At last, I decided to give it a shot (its a free account anyway), I signed up. Luckily the signup process was smooth. I successfully confirmed my email address and phone number and then the wait begins. I have never waited for an email with this much eagerness before in my life, not even Google Adsense. My concern was that if this thing is happening, I must be a part of it.

After signing up, I started watching DTube videos, read random Steemit posts and studied anything I could find about this topic on the Internet. I joined the Steemit Chat channel. Over there, I came across wonderful people including moderators. So at last, the wait was over and on the ninth day, I received my approval email. That was a wonderful feeling, I clicked the link, set up my account and backed up my password along with the keys. Now I am here, sharing my very first post with you.

I now believe that Cryptocurrency is something which should not be ignored anymore. This concept is going to play a crucial role in our future and will open up new opportunities for the world, which is right now just stuck in a tightly held system.

Enough money talks, now something about myself. By profession, I am a Software Programmer and I earn my living completely off freelancing and by renting out a few ancestral properties which I am lucky to have. Life has been mostly good, with a bumpy ride here and there, but I think I am doing just fine.

I do freelancing rather than a regular job because of my habit to explore outdoors. By outdoors, I don't mean anything like Las Vegas or New York (those are beautiful places, I know). My interest has always been in exploring hilly areas, rural areas, forests, lakes, oceans and old buildings. Yes, this is a crazy combination, lads like me are hard to find. Many programmers enjoy their indoor games like Xbox or PS, but I am the weird one, completely opposite.

I enjoy finding interesting people during my travels and explore crazy places. I have been to numerous places from abandoned temples to haunted mansions in different parts of the world. Keeping a balance between trips and work has always been a challenge. I have screwed up most of the times. And now, I avoid picking work while on my trips. I tell you, trips and work cannot happen together, no matter how hard you try. I learned it the hard way; fortunately, all is good now. I have a small number of clients who are happy with my work and somehow I balance my clients and my travel urge.

Blogging for many is a way to express themselves, some want to share their views about things around them, some just want to share their professional expertise whereas some want to share their real-life experiences (both good and bad). I am also here for all of this but mostly I am going to talk about my bizarre life experiences with bumpy rides here and there during my trips and sometimes about my professional life.

I think I'll be talking more about my trips, nature is so peaceful and most of us have actually forgotten how it feels to be in a quiet forest with birds chirping around you and fishes swimming in the crystal clear lake right in front of you. As soon as I find an environment like this, I get dissolved into it for hours and just don't want to think about anything but peace, something in me is so happy that it doesn't want me to leave that mental state. This world is actually amazing, the problem is most of just don't know it yet. There is something that pulls me again and again to such places, which is a big reason for my travel. It is during these travels, I often come across many experiences, which I am certainly going to share on my blog.
I have been to different parts of the world, but India remains the top spot whenever I am in search of something extraordinary. There is always someplace in this country which is worth exploring.

There were times when a bug in me would take me to haunted places along with my friends. Probably these were some of the worst decisions I ever made in my life. Yes, I have had my share of creepy experiences, not sure whether those can be termed paranormal but were unexplainable for sure. You see, human mind plays crazy tricks when you are in love or when you are scared. I tend to stay away from such trips now and just don't attend my friends' call to explore the next haunted mansion.

My blog would be about my real life experiences, about my travel, tips and tricks and a few interesting stories I come across during my long journeys. I have been to trips in a group, with family, and on solo trips. I am unmarried and 29 years of age. I think you'll enjoy my blog posts here.

Feel free to follow me. looking forward getting in touch with all of you here on Steemit.
Thanks for reading and stay tuned :) Cheers...
