#1 - Hey There, Steem! Who I Am And What Brings Me Here (Introduction)
While I was researching cryptocurrency and investing, I have discovered the family of Steem and the idea got me interested. I wanted to make an account and share my thoughts and interests, that I already done on other platforms, here as well. But to be part of the family, I will introduce myself first!
I am currently 23 years old and I live in Europe. For a few months, I work from home. After finishing my A-levels, I spend a year to be what is called a NEET (Not in Employment, Education, or Training), before going to university, where I studied for the past 2 years. While studying, I have also interned abroad and had regular part-time job experiences.
In 2016, I decided to drop out of university. The constricting nature of university didn't make me happy. The stuff I was learning wasn't very valuable to me. It seemed like trading some of my lifetime for a piece of paper. It was a tough decision against the advice of my family and some friends. At the time, I had a small but uncertain income - it was risky. But it was the right call. We Steemers, and cryptocurrency enthuasists, can see there are many ways to make a living in the Internet.
If you combine some of them, and be relatively modest with your spending, you can essentially work from home.
This opportunity we have today to do so much, to become independent, is amazing. Crypto is indeed a good way to generate a stream of income, but I think it shouldn't be your only one. The technology behind it is still not ready for mass-adoption, and its current value is obviously deriving from speculation. That's why, at any point in 2017, it can burst. Not a good horse to bet on all your money, if you are dependent on a short-term and mid-term gains. However I believe in it and am excited to see it evolve in the next few years.
In my free time, I like to play piano. It was a skill I picked up when I was 12, I never had formal lessons. So I am not extremely good but it relaxes me and is a fun thing for me. I love to play recognizable themes from film and games, as well as classical pieces. I play poker and go to the shooting range. I also have an interest in video games, but rarely play now. Most of what I read now is focused on medical literature, where I have a lot of knowledge, and investing, where I still need to learn more and get better.
On my Steem, I want to blog about my experiences as a NEET and university student as well as my job experiences. What are the advantages and disadvantages of those lifestyles? What kind of person do you need to be? Since I experienced all states, I think my very personal experience may be helpful to some. I will also blog about my current life, ways to make a living and some ways how I sustain it.
I also want to blog about one of my interests - medicine. I have not studied university for this, nor interned in this field, but it is a focus of me. I read a lot of stuff about peculiar, bizarre medicine cases, radiation and most of all facial aesthetics and the nature of an attractive face. This is very technical stuff but it continues to amaze me.
Thanks for reading my small introduction and I am happy to be a part of this community. Let me know if these topics would interest you or you want to know something more!
