About myself and my office
Hello everybody!
I am glad to join the steemit-community and as it seems, I am one of very few lawyers here, if any. But very often people from my profession and background are very cautious with new developments. Anyway, not my problem.
I have been a German lawyer for twenty years now and also a Hungarian lawyer for six years.
I have specialized in the field of cross-border inheritance cases - after gathering a lot of experience in other branches as well, such as criminal defense.
I have not always sat in my office in Germany, but have worked, studied and lived in a variety of countries, such as the Netherlands, Latvia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Croatia and Kosovo.
Maybe - from an outsider´s point of view - the most important and interesting cases I have had were defending in a war-crime case in Kosovo before the International EULEX-Court in Prishtina and representing Hungarian Jews in two so-called "Auschwitz-Cases" in Germany, where former SS-guards were brought to justice. Also appearing before the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg is a bit far from daily routine.
But I myself would rather name other cases - when foreigners (or rather: non-Germans) inherited in Germany and just could not find proper support to get what is theirs. I find it very satisfying to help such clients overcome the difficulties of having to deal with a foreign language and - maybe most important - to deal with non-cooperative authorities, courts and private persons.
Having also held hundreds of seminars for judges of EU-Candidate-Countries within the frame of Brussels-supported programs, I have some experience with teaching law.
My approach here is not in the first place to do what most lawyers do: Praise my office and tell the people how clever, smart and committed I am, so please give me your cases - and your money. But I would like to spread some knowledge about German and International law, if possible in an entertaining way.
I will be always thankful for comments and suggestions what to write about and will be happy to fulfill such wishes - if I can.

just having been to a German lawyer myself last Friday for some inheritance case ( I´m German though) after it´s been years since I had to deal with one, I thought it quite the coincidence that my fellow passenger on the ecotrain Michelle had resteemed an introductory post by a German lawyer. Personally I find law so complicated and confusing that I avoid it as much as possible, so if you can enlighten us on law in an entertaining way then that is very impressive to me!
