A Garrylous Introduction

Hi all, my name is Garry and I'm a new steemian.

I'm not very talkative when it comes to myself and my own introductions. In fact, that top sentence would have been enough for me. But I won't do that.

I am a hobbyist writer who loves the poetic mingling of diction and vocabulary to express my grave annoyances at the world around me; from work and my employer to the rude London Underground staff who have probably all forgotten how nice it feels to smile. But I won't do that here.

I also have a website that is dedicated to technology news and debate. I come from almost fifteen years of computers and code - starting at the very young age of thirteen - and in my spare time, which is plentiful, I'll be sat at my PS4 ignoring anything and everything.

Besides the above, I use Python almost all of the time to create scripts and code that make my life easier. For instance, I have a local webpage that "grabs" all of the last twenty-four hours of available jobs from job searching websites which host their own APIs, filters them by what I search for, and links me to them - just to make my life easier when searching for a better job than what I am doing now.
Another example is an IRC-based remote administration bot. I call it Bary and what it does is connect each of my computers to my local IRC server where I can administrate each computer (Windows and Linux) from wherever I login, including my phone. I had thought of making it an app, but I really don't have the time.

Otherwise, I just write. I'm working on my website occasionally but I am always hard at work on my novel, The Order of Ivayla, which is a religious fantasy tale of a secret religious order and a young prince being conscripted into their service for his protection. It's really quite cool!

And lastly, I'm short. I'm five-foot-four-inches tall. So don't anger me or I'll bite your ankles. Otherwise I'm really quite nice.

Over the next while that I use Steemit, expect to see posts on technology. Debates, news, opinion pieces, gaming, mobile and telecomms and many things more. Everybody is welcome to follow me on here and, or Twitter, and everybody is free to comment!
