New beginnings - an introduction
So I guess this is technically my introduction but this is actually my second steemit page, but alas I lost my laptop with the only copy of my steemit password rendering my original page useless. Perhaps it was a blessing in disguise because the old page was... well different, it was a mish mash of short stories, photography, general musings and other odds and sods but it had no real structure - dunjayram420 if you’re curious, it’s pretty embarrassing but feel free to have a peak. Now I’m not about to claim that this page is going to be some beacon of structure because that wouldn’t be me, I’m more organised chaos than organised paperwork, a free spirit. So although I want this to be a pretty open platform there will be a thread of self improvement and mental and physical growth - I plan to review and list products that I use and find helpful also. We’ll be looking at age old practices like transcendental meditation and the martial arts and really trying look from a learning perspective - growing our collective conciseness as we go. I’m not a journalist and I’m no guru, I’m just a man with a curious mind and a passion for helping others. I currently volunteer as a development coach working with people with mental health or addiction problems and working with those guys has shown me I have the ability to help more people by simply sharing my experiences.
Here are some of the philosophies and life lessons I live by... and I mean, eat, sleep, breath!

Auto suggestions - when you or others around you give positive affirmations out loud or in meditation!
Meditate everyday - be great-full for every breath you take and you will prove to be the master of your mind.
I recently started to use an EEG machine while sleeping and meditating and I have to say after fifteen years of doing every kind of meditation around I thought I was pretty zen but using the EEG has given me more benefit with less time spent meditating. Having real time data I can analyse has really helped me target my meditation as well, I find I’m able to reach those heightened states much quicker since using the EEG. I love looking at my sleep data too and matching it up with any dreams I may remember. Oh yeah and keep a dream diary if you want to remember your dreams plus they encourage lucid dreams, something I’m sure we’ll be getting into at some point. charset="utf-8" type="text/javascript" src="//ws-eu.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/q?rt=tf_mfw&ServiceVersion=20070822&MarketPlace=GB&ID=V20070822%2FGB%2Fduncan0f-21%2F8001%2F7a82f6c4-8644-4743-b0f5-b4112c54f6e1"> </Amazon.co.uk Widgets

When you have that thought that triggers your anxiety, stop and write it down. This better allows you to solve the problem rationally and will stop the thought sending cortisol rushing though your body putting you into fight or flight.
“A man who has not passed through the inferno of his passions has never overcome them. As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light in the darkness of mere being” - Carl Jung
“You are what you repeatedly do. Excellence, then is not an act but a habit.” - Aristotle
I like to train every day - what other people use as rest or recovery days, I do light cardio, nothing crazy mostly shadow boxing, reflex ball or some ti chi or yoga but I do at least an hour of exercise every day. This is why managing your time efficiently is vital because there really aren’t enough hours in the day. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07S1SRHL6/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=duncan0f-21&camp=1634&creative=6738&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B07S1SRHL6&linkId=6fd3e1153b3aeba8fee5b0e27e2b3848
Any help getting me started will be greatly appreciated so if you have any suggestions or pointers on how to get myself out there please leave a comment. I hope we can learn and grow together, I’d love to create a little community of like minded people all sharing their truth and learning from each other.
