Salutations & Beautiful days

Hello to all of you. My name is Chris and I am so happy to have this opportunity to be able to share with you a body of Art work that has been sitting on the shelf for far too long. This platform is unreal to me because I am a sixties baby and I can always remember being told by adults you can't make a living coloring son...Got to get a 9 to 5 to pay your rent and eat. There it is, right...I really don't know what came first my love for Music or Color? I have been coloring since I could pick up a crayon and I would make beats with that same crayon on any surface. The love is just embedded in my soul...I took Art through my public Schooling like most but I didn't start painting till later in my life. But it was the 80's when I was a teen as Hip Hop was being created and introduced to the world. I always had beats running through my head so this was like, Wooowww....After loving all the Funk, Rock and R&B before it, Hip Hop was a Phenomenon and a real game changer. Coming through like what!! and you can't stop it! Kind of like the Block Chain! But I started Dj-ing with my uncle when I was in 7th grade and I was hooked. So you go from playing music to wanting to create your own music real fast. My first hands on was with a Roland 808....man....My friends and I were Borrowing it from a cousin for a minute but man, I was done... That was it, day and night diggin in the crates practicing, performing, doing parties and then ...You have to grow up apparently...A kid here, A kid there, some medical bills, car notes, mortgages, marriages, you know, all those grown up things. How time really does fly. And In between I chased my Dreams... a little. Maybe not chased but I was strolling. At one point I ended up working with one of my all time favorite R&B groups as a drum tech for a short period of time and entered one art show for display only one year. But that was the extent of the jumpin off the cliff with it. I have been working in the Healthcare profession on the business side for about 35 years now...So Please...help Me!! LOL...It has paid my bills and I am very thankful and blessed. And through it all I did not stop creating Music and Art...I couldn't , even if I wanted to. Its a Disease based on my love and passion. I have not sold one piece of my art or music for money. Yet I have done many pieces of art for people and they have given me money but I still have always had a hard time charging anybody for my art. I do it from the heart. Same with my music. I have close to 100 or so songs that I have created and collaborated with others in my family and we are all talented in my opinion and simply love creating music. I have close to 50 hand-painted acrylic canvas's and another 50 drawings and different mediums of art that I am so Excited to have found a platform that I can finally exhale and share with the public for no other reason then to share my love for something. So please...come hang out and follow me for a minute. I should have enough art and music to hold you for a minute in this crazy day and age. Here's what I would like to do. I want to try and post one piece of Art a week. One song, Painting, or Poem. A couple Stories, A few Synopsis, Ideas,etc....Then I figured I could also start a Blog about Healthcare doing anything I can to help educate the public with my 35 years of experience as a Financial counselor and Patient advocate. Sound good? We can do this. I gots this... So my first Drawing I'd like to share with you is a Self- portrait that has a lot in it. Right away you will notice the plane and I first would like to tell you a story to explain that part of it. I was witness to the worst plane crash in the U.S. at the time. North Park, San Diego, CA on the morning of 9/25/79. I saw both planes go down from the exercise field of my junior high and was the first one out of my P.E. class to notice and point the planes out in the sky as we all were doing jumping jacks. All of us were stunned and started running following the PSA Airliner's flaming path across a perfect blue sky till we were all across the street, elevated above Florida canyon. We all stood there for what seemed like minutes watching in silence. So surreal... I remember looking at the tinted windows on the side of the PSA airliner as it was seconds before impact thinking I could almost see and hear the fear through those windows. Feeling the impact as the ground shook under our feet...Profound. And as reality started to kick in with frantic I wondered if my house had been hit? It wasn't, all Thanks to God. The last thing I remember of that day was sitting in the living room with my family like zombies watching all the news of this disaster. Not a word was spoken for hours till my mom finally got up from the couch, reached down, kissed me on the forehead and said, "Happy Birthday Chris"....That's one Birthday story for you out of 52 and counting... I hope you chose to take this journey to let me share some of my life's treasures while I'm still alive. There's so much more to come....An Artists work is never finished. Peace and Love my friendsMy Thoughts Exactly 4.jpg
