Hello Steemit!
I am a Midwest Homemaker, Homesteader and Homeschooler. I have a passion for writing and love to share all the triumphs and trials of gardening, raising chickens and homeschooling two little boys.
In 2012, my family moved from Metro Detroit to Illinois onto a 5-acre patch of flat land with poor soil and few trees. Since then, we’ve put in over a hundred fruit trees, built a small vineyard, planted a food hedge and started gardening.
In 2013, I started a blog to chronicle the many adventures we've had as rookie homesteaders.

There's a lot to learn here. Please, oh please, don't let the stupid manna/RC stuff run you off. It is taking a lot of patience from new folks right now. Don't bother wasting your RC upvoting this comment, save it for another interaction :)
You're here at a really awesome time. STEEM is dipping, so the people that are here are the awesome dedicated ones that want to be here.

Thanks for the mention @nateonsteemit! And welcome @apinchofhome! Nice to meet another homeschooling homesteading mama! As Nathan says there's so much to learn here. It's lovely to share information and experiences with each other. You'll quickly get to "meet" those you want to interact with. I think it's important to make the community side your focus and the crypto side simply a bonus. Otherwise it can be disheartening. Have fun!

Thank you for the welcome! We lived in Clarkston...about 40 minutes north of Detroit.
My oldest daughter lives there now- in Clarkston. She used to live in Auburn Hills but moved further north for her work.
