Introducing Me

Greetings to all the Steemit users out there. I’m Maya, here to express myself and to get to know all of you. So, a little about me… I’m a college student, freshmen year. My interest includes, books, painting, horse riding, traveling and photography.

My interests in books steamed from reading “A Little Princess” by Frances Hodgson Burnett and “The Wishing Chair” by Enid Blyton. The first book was my mom’s favorite book and it is now mine as well (I’m still trying to get my sister to read it). And the second book belonged to my grandfather who passed away when I was a baby, sadly I lost the book. My preferred genre to read is fantasy and some Sci-Fi.

I used to take painting classes when I was younger but I’m mostly learning how to draw from YouTube. Below is a picture of one of my recent works.

For those who don’t get the reference, it’s from the TV show “Supernatural”. As you can see I still have a lot of work to do.

My interests of photography and traveling are both from my father. He is a photographer who loves to travel. I’ve been traveling since I was five, and up to now I’ve been to over ten countries, some more than once. Traveling is a big part in my life and I can’t imagine what my life would be like if I didn’t travel. Even though my dad is a photographer he sometimes is too lazy to take photos so I usually end up being the photographer for the family, and while I won’t get to be in most of the photos, it doesn’t compare to the smiles on people faces when they like the photo I took of them.

Horse riding has been a recent interest of mine. I took some lessons and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I’m still not good at it. My instructor said that you wouldn’t know how to ride a horse until you’ve fallen off a horse at least 100 times; my current count: 0. Yeah… I still have a long way to go.
