Why art?

Maybe it is because I need to express myself beyond words. Maybe. Sometimes I feel that I want to say something, but, at the same time, I feel that I do not want anyone to know what I want to say.

I found my way to escape throught the paper. I spend hours and hours thinking, designing and doing my drawings. During this time I feel evaded from the world and, even if the final result does not convince me completely, I like to look at it and see my feelings captured among the lines.

My favourite techniques are ink markers and pencils, being used in a realistic way (or at least that is what I try to do). I do not really like to add colour to my drawings, but, sometimes, I feel it is very useful to create abstract effects, more ideal and indefinite. Even though I love to represent things the most realistically possible, I have to admit that photographs allow us to capture this "reality" in a different but also dazzling way, so sometimes I consider copying a photo senseless. That is the reason why I have decided to first post a drawing like this one, something imprecise and full of colourful spots, a kind of drawing that I do not usually do but I love.

This drawing is something I have created. I put a part of me on it.
